"My memories went down to the 1983 World Cup. Nobody gave us a chance in the World Cup that year, but we qualified and won at the end of the day. The feeling today is quite similar as no one gave the Sunrisers a chance in the tournament, and today we have qualified for the playoffs," Srikkanth said.
Don't find anything wrong there. All he's saying is India were underdogs in '83 and likewise SRH were the underdogs in IPL.

Let them WIN FIRST, and then talk. The 83 WC was a different thing. India were real underdogs, playing away from home which they were poor at. And there is SRH, having played half their matches in home conditions, heck, even away conditions are not too different.

Same here - I was surprised this wasn't taken out of context as yet.

To start with, Srikkanth's statement is out of context. Next, it doesn't matter "how" SRH made the playoffs; they ultimately made it. Next, home conditions do matter. Home conditions in IPL means playing to the strengths of the players in your team. And btw, it's not just SRH who are taking advantage of "home conditions" but every other team including CSK, MI and RR. There is no reason to cry foul over it neither is there reason to deny that there are subtle changes in conditions to suit the home team.
