Respect Dhoni

So you have to abuse another player to prove a point? How does it make you better than them? I don't remember any press conference where any Indian captain was so helpless and made such a fool of himself
Apologies. At the same time I would expect some respect for Dhoni as well. As far as the press conference is concerned, what else could Dhoni have done? The press conference was organized by BCCI and they had specifically instructed him not to utter a word regarding betting in IPL? Yes I thought he cut a sorry figure but he had no other choice. And why dint you reply anything about the fact that Sachin has always remained silent on the betting MATCHFIXING issue which involved his own teammates? Even though Sachin was at a much higher pedestal than Dhoni will ever be, he chose to remain silent. Like Dhoni, he was also minting millions and so should have been honest with his fans at that point of time. Right? So why did Sachin chose to do that? Give it a thought, I know you know the answer

Look Sir, It is "mandatory" for the captain to hold a press conference for ICC events. In this case, the press conference was for media sponsors etc. Dhoni will once again have to attend a press conference once he touch bases England according to ICC media sponsorship rules. Next, of course BCCI can choose to gag it's employees from speaking to the press. Quite surprised that you think otherwise. It has done in the past against stalwarts like Tendulkar, Dravid etc. and it will continue doing it. Now if and whether this is right or wrong is up for discussion.
I have not read the clause, but I would imagine that if the captain is down with viral or any injury, he will not be forced to attend the press conference. Not sure, if the "mandatory" nature of this clause requires much doing for getting around it.
