I agree that this was not the right moment to answer fixing related questions when team is going on tour for an important series. But don't know what the respect factor is about...for being a puppet to BCCI and not uttering a word ? The least expected was just a few words from MSD...atleast condemning the happenings

I don't think it's a questioning of criticizing BCCI as far as dhoni was concerned.He just had to give a very general view on the fixing saga

Dravid spoke about it, called it "in some ways felt like a bereavement", got panned for it. Srini spoke about it, gave himself a clean chit, said law will take its own course and harshest punishments will be handed out to guilty, got panned for that. Gavaskar spoke about it, said "Let the probe be over before coming to a conclusion", got criticized. Bedi talked about it, called for a thorough clean up, no one gave a damn. Kirti Azad thundered in the media on the eyewash of a probe BCCI had ordered, again went unnoticed. Wonder what effect hearing the same cliched "We have no idea what was happening", "It will not have an effect on our CT performance" etc from Dhoni would have in the current scenario except for getting some headlines for the mediafilks attending the interview. And while we are at it, after the fixing saga in 2000, the then captain Ganguly or other players did not talk about it publicly either.

Don't think Dhoni ever respected Media.. He has been at war with them for a long time. I would do the same if we have sh*** media like what we have in India. They are freely dropping names with vague informations.

You miss the point again as usual. No matter how bad the media is, when you have to stand up against a wrong, media is the best option. Would you watch your country go down just because you have a fued with the media? Having said that, I wouldn't blame Dhoni one bit. When our legends like Sachin, Dravid, Gavaskar, etc don't have the guts to stand out and speak against the board, why should Dhoni?

Firstly, I don't think we should bring other cricketers into this. What they did is not the benchmark ? Neither is this. I think overall scenario is symptomatic of lack of hurt for Indian cricketers combined with extreme self centredness packaged by total insulation from ground realities. I would imagine if the captain of India ( BCCI in this case ) is also intimidated by press manager to not answer some questions that are hurting Indian cricket and he doesn't feel powerful enough or the need to challenge him, you know there is a problem.

Not our media. Our media is only good at making stories out of thin air. It is frankly pointless to respond to them. No matter what he says,, there will always be some morons finding fault or taking potshots at him. It is better not open your mouth.

Fans turn up in 1000s match after match despite the fixing saga, why would cricketers think otherwise? As for there being a problem, you don't need Dhoni's silence in a PC to know that. The entire system is rotten and Dhoni himself is a part of the problem.

IMO the best way for anyone to take a stand would be something like refusing to take trophy from Srini/refuse to shake his hand, etc. But BCCI is too powerful, if someone does that, he will never touch a cricket bat again
