Detonator Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Short answer - No. Because your 'right to be not uncomfortable' is not a right at all. It doesnt exist, neither should it exist, given how vague 'uncomfortable' is in a legal definition. As i noted earlier, you simply have no case unless you can explain to us why suggestive posters should be removed for making you feel 'uncomfortable' but not the local paan-wallah where all the local hooligans gather. They make me far more 'uncomfortable', so should we ban them too ? I have news for you: a) unless you talk to your kids about sex (not just the biology of it, but what it really means), then your kids idea of sex will come from media - be it posters, internet, tv or magazines. b) What you think is 'age appropriate', judging by Indian morality standards, is complete, utter and total bakwaas. 100% pure distilled nonsense. If you want to talk to a kid at an appropriate age about sex, try talking to them before their teens. When they can rationally comprehend it. But no, that is apparently not the appropriate age to talk about it. We shall tell them about sex when the kid is somewhere in their teens, when the 's' word is the biggest sought after button there is.Telling them about sex once the hormones have hit is nothing more than parenting fail. Thats like arriving to a wedding when the ceremony has already started. Dont give me that 'its your approach' nonsense. Last i checked, Canadian kids know what bjs and stuff are by the time they are 10. Last i checked, we also have far less sexual abuse and sex crimes per capita than India and we actually have less sex crimes now, in the day and age the kids know everything there is to know about sex very early, than we did 30 years ago. The more you keep your kids in the dark, the more they are going to mess it up. Good luck. If you think the 'when' comes after your son is starting to grow a moustache or your daughter is starting to develop boobs, then its too late. :WTF: a few of my brain cells just died :((
FischerTal Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 :WTF: a few of my brain cells just died :(( same here. :nervous:
Muloghonto Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Good luck to you .... Are you CC Mr Molughonto? Your obnoxious personal attack seems very familiar... I dunno who that is and why all of a sudden people think that ?! I used to be SachinLara, then i changed it to Muloghonto. Funny enough when i requested my namechange, people started to guess all sorts of other names. :idunno:
Muloghonto Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 :WTF: a few of my brain cells just died :(( massive shock to assumed values usually produces such an unintended consequence, i suppose.
Muloghonto Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Good luck to you .... Are you CC Mr Molughonto? Your obnoxious personal attack seems very familiar... Didnt you personalize the issue by asking us what we would feel like if our moms and kids were involved ? If you personalize an issue, you should expect a personalized response. I answered you directly as to what *I* would do with my kids. Then i suggested that you might want to do things differently, aka perhaps you should investigate the notions of 'age appropriateness' thats been drilled into you by your own upbringing. Sorry you found my response obnoxious, but i find your meddling with free society on some hocus pocus illogical, inconsistent and unreal concept of morality also obnoxious. Apparently a few naked mannequins are obnoxious but your cities choking in two-stroke tuktuk dust is not obnoxious. Like, seriously ?! PS: That 'good luck comment' was not snide, it was meant in good faith. 99.99% Indian parents are epic fails when it comes to sex ed for their children. A grand total of maybe 1% actually deliver the 'biology class version' of the chat, a grand total of ZERO percent ever actually educate their kids in sex in terms deeper than a cow's grasp of intercourse. And i am yet to meet an Indian parent who didnt leave matters till too late, like 3 weeks before departure to college. By which time, you can be rest assured your kid is not going to take you seriously on the topic because you've been an epic fail/missing in action for the last 5 years while their brains exploded with excess hormones. They've learnt to cope in whatever means they've found and made us parents redundant by then. But here's to hoping that yours maybe the 1 in a million Indian family to buck the trend of assininity on the said topic.

urbestfriend Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Sachin lara, First 99.99% Indians are illiterates and now 99.99% indian parents are fail :haha: Where do you come up with these stats?

Well you might've met one or two in your lifetime. Now look at the western world. There are 100x more philosophy and social science grads here than in India. And guess which field is relevant and at the forefront of these social debates as well as the logic of legalism - philosophy. As for Indian parents, well, to be honest 90% of the parents worldwide are fail when it comes to sex ed but there are some western parents who bite the bullet and prepare their kids for their sexual life. But rest assured in this field, there are literally less than 1 in a thousand parents who talk about it with their kids.

Muloghonto Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I agree :hatsoff: I had already admitted few of my braincells died :(( Do you desis never get to learn that editing a quote inside the quote box to alter the message is academic fraud ? I know a few of your braincells died. It died because your illogical thought got challenged and exposed for what it is- which is why you resort to knee jerk word-dropping without any thought to back it up. Now stop editing my quotes inside the quote box or i am going to report you for fraud.
