But all three of them including Rohit seem to be on their way to fulfil their quota of runs for the season. OP has been updated. The only problem with batsmen other than Dhawan and kohli have been they aren't scoring big and I have huge doubts if Raina, Dhoni or karthik can achieve the targets I wanted them to as per OP.

M quite sure Shami will get his quota now that he is going t5o play regularly ... Though I have my doubts about Rahane, Rayadu, Umesh or Ishant fulfilling their quotas. I hardly expected Rohit to become the second man in the list to achieve the target of runs I hoped he would. Glad, he is coming off age ... Would be nice to see him, dhawan and kohli in South Africa and New Zealand.

Yes, I did update it ... About Dhoni ... He has just got 344 runs this season ... And that is from a minimum 12 games apart from the ones in Ranchi and Cuttack. Our top has been so dominant in this season that the middle and lower middle order have really missed out. I really feel for Dinesh Karthik who has been kicked out for Yuvraj and Yuvraj has really failed to stand up. I agree that Yuvraj should be there but Karthik had for no mistake of his been discarded. Similarly, only a few chances for Rayadu in Zimbabwe and he did well there but I dont see him getting another chance any time soon.
MCcricket Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 India,s biggest problem is its selections, selectors and team management live in a bubble and don't have a vision or will to discard losers like Ishant, Vk, and select thoroughbred bowlers, they need to introduce or should have done it a while back, Pankaj, Pandey, Suyal, Shukla, the good news being Aaron, Umesh , Irfan are back this season.Raina, Yuvi have also to be looked at more closely as they have had a bad year.

I believe we will be able to win the rest two tournaments .. But I fail to see how our batsman will achieve their targets ... The guys who have done really well this season are Dhawan, Kohli and Rohit and I would ideally want another 300 runs minimum from all of their bats which should be easy in 9-10 innings if you get an average of 30 ... But Dhoni and Raina need to contribute too ... Both of their performances have been below average and it will take them nowhere. Jadeja needs to score a little more too if he needs to be there as the all-rounder India is looking for. I dont see any of the bowlers achieve the targets in this season apart from Jadeja who has been real good and needs just one more scalp to reach his target. Hope we beat New Zealand comprehensively, given that WI have very recently have a tied series there.
