Hafeez Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Junaid khan or Umar gul one of them should be our 3rd pacer Anyway still happy Asad ali is playing
SLICKR392 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Vernon's first Test in the SC conditions, correct? Would be nice to see how he does there.
G_B_ Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 ^ i think pak will go with 2 spinners. Prepare spinning tracks. speaking of which, when was the last time SA toured India anyways? Been a long long time
carnish Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 ^ i think pak will go with 2 spinners. Prepare spinning tracks. speaking of which, when was the last time SA toured India anyways? Been a long long time Then came in 2008 and 2010. Played 5 tests in the two tours. We visited in 2011 for 3 tests and now will be playing 3 more in 2013-14. South Africa are due to visit India next in October 2015 for 3 tests.
carnish Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Vernon's first Test in the SC conditions, correct? Would be nice to see how he does there. Will come out as a Trunler who will still get wickets considering how pathetic Pakistani batting is.
SLICKR392 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Will come out as a Trunler who will still get wickets considering how pathetic Pakistani batting is. Might actually work his pace up before touring UAE. Skilled bowler, but he failed in the 1st Test in England where the pitch was dry.

Been a long long time Yep. Rehman and Ajmal with Hafeez as a part timer. Any chance of Afridi making a comeback in Test? :cantstop: England had 2 quality spinners in Panesar and Swann when they toured UAE. SA has none! A tough series for the Saffers awaits in UAE.
Old guy Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Might actually work his pace up before touring UAE. Skilled bowler' date=' but he failed in the 1st Test in England where the pitch was dry.[/quote'] failed ? dont go by wickets he kept it very tight and was bit unlucky to be honest.
SLICKR392 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 failed ? dont go by wickets he kept it very tight and was bit unlucky to be honest. Ishant-esque? :cantstop: Obviously it mattered. He was breaking records and picking wickets insanely before this game and IIRC, he was poor against Australia as well. Picked 4 wickets at and avg. of over 40.

Of course I watched both the games in England and Australia. Philander was expected to pick wickets, but he did not. End of the story.

End of the story.[/quote'] no..south africa were expected to pick 20 wickets and they did and philander had key role btw steyn failed in australia in first 2 matches and philander was injured in one :winky: if u saw english series u would know how well philander bowled
Sajid_Rana Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Last time South Africa failed to win single match because Steyn was a total flop. If he fails again then all these talks of him being a great bowler should be laid to rest.
Old guy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Last time South Africa failed to win single match because Steyn was a total flop. If he fails again then all these talks of him being a great bowler should be laid to rest. so was ajmal..
carnish Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Guys, I will no more be updating these threads because at the end of the this thread will also be merged with other silly threads on this series like Ind-Zim. No point wasting my time any more. Thanks
deathmonger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Last time South Africa failed to win single match because Steyn was a total flop. If he fails again then all these talks of him being a great bowler should be laid to rest. LOL yet Ajmal is the greatest spinner ever in spite of failing in two SA series, NZ, Oz etc
