saneindian Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Recently BCCI held a bowler's camp at NCA. Bowlers picked were - Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Suraj Yadav, Ishwar Pandey, Siddarth Kaul, Imtiaz Ahmed, Sandeep Warrier, Ankit Rajput, Rishi Dhawan, Sarabjit Ladda, Shreekant Wagh, Aniket Choudhary, Rakesh Dhurve, Shahbaz Nadeem, Parvez Rasool, Akshay Darekar, Karan Sharma, Jalaj Saxena, Dhawal Kulkarni and Kamlesh Makvana. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/130709/sports-cricket/article/emerging-players-camp-starts-nca Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah not even invited for the camp but picked for U-23 squad! Also, wonder how many of the relatively younger ones picked for this squad are a part of the camp for Over-19 players being held at NCA
rkt.india Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Suryakumar Yadav may not have got a game in this Ranji season — so ironical after that dream start in 2011-12 when he amassed 754 runs — but he has certainly served a reminder to the selectors with tall scores in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy knockout matches. Yadav was named the skipper of the India U-23 side that will play in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Singapore. The squad has Unmukt Chand and Ashok Menaria, both of whom have captained India’s U-19 teams in the World Cup. Fact that Yadav has been preferred over his experienced colleagues suggests that he has done something right. He played an important role in Mumbai U-25 win in Col CK Nayudu Trophy, slamming three tons and 95 in the knockout stages. “He has a sharp mind and is a street-smart cricketer. He did well at the NCA camp which worked for him. And he is an India material,” said a source. Mumbai U-25 coach Vilas Godbole said, “I’ve been telling him that he has the potential to play for the country. I’ve never seen such a confident batsman in many years, but he should not lose focus.” The selectors also announced the India U-19 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in July -August. Vijay Zol will lead the side. http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/1859751/report-suryakumar-yadav-to-lead-india-u-23

Two of them are from Mumbai itself Siddesh Lad and Nikhil Patil.
ShebbySB Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 seriously ! what has mandeep done in list A matches to demand a place in this squad ? Mandeep is miles better than Surya Yadav & u don't have to check FC records for that.
ShebbySB Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Selections very poor also useless players from Mumbai are picked up' date=' bowling is a joke as well, how can Suyal, Shukla not be in the team, same with players mentioned by rkt.[/quote'] Suyal & Aaron are 23+,Shukla is eligible though.
Sidhoni Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Mandeep Singh (21), Rahul Shukla (22), Ankit Rajpoot (19), Mayank Agarwal should have been there in place of Surya, Kaustubh Pawar, Sandeep Warrier and Harshal Patel. Kaustubh Pawar has not played a single one day domestic match yet. What a joke of a selection! :omg:
rkt.india Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Suyal & Aaron are 23+' date='Shukla is eligible though.[/quote'] Its U23, so means players who are 23 are also eligible like it happens in U19. Players who were 19 were also eligible.
ShebbySB Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Its U23' date=' so means players who are 23 are also eligible like it happens in U19. Players who were 19 were also eligible.[/quote'] Then why it's called U-23,it shd be 23 & U-23 combined or something like that:--D
rkt.india Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Then why it's called U-23' date='it shd be 23 & U-23 combined or something like that:--D[/quote'] U23 means 23 or less.
