After suffering through all those collapses and snatching defeat from jaws of victory in 90s and early to mid 2000s, we finally mange to get one batsman who can be relied upon to handle the chase and we still are not happy We used to pine for batsmen like Bevan and when we finally manage to get someone as good, if not better, we are still taking shots at him as if chasing down totals has been a walk in the park for us over the years. There's a reason why we became so good at chasing and our record in odis became so good since mid to late 2000s and that happened with advent of Dhoni and to a lesser extent Yuvraj. Before Dhoni our best bet used to be bat first and score big, and we couldn't win much while chasing. Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth and enjoy whatever years are left with Dhoni in the team coz we will realize his true worth once he's gone, most probably after the 2015 WC.

Same Dhoni helped us draw a test match at Lords in more difficult conditions for batting and that draw lead us to a series victory. Though rain played a big part too, but cannot deny Dhoni had played a wonderful innings.

That's part of the game. Sreesanth got benefit of doubt. LBWs, you get some, some dont, Here Dar had denied a thick edge to slip and you are crying for an LBW and I think one of the tailender before Sreesanth got a wrong LBW decision too.

First of all why it came into picture? as it is one of very few good/great performnace by him in tests.

Common RKT , you know very well it's a sarcastic post. Any way you can't give one or 2 examples people can term it has fluke. In ODI you have lot of examples to prove Dhoni is a great finisher but you don't have simialr number of examples in tests yet.

He has played quite a few good innings in tests too, both at home and overseas. Though his impact overseas has not been that great but as a captain he averages more than Ganguly, Dravid, and Azhar in test cricket.

He did play some very odd shots in that innings. Trying to save the gave and he slogged a few and got lucky sometimes. I remeber thinking wtf are you doing:giggle:
