Laaloo Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I don't care about stats. Ashwin is pretty mediocre. What are his numbers against sides apart from the lankans? His fielding is mediocre and his batting as well. case dismissed

G_B_ Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i will be opening batsman :aggressive: just like good old Luke Ronchi :winky:
Laaloo Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 dropped a catch yesterday and useless in the outfield
FischerTal Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 dropped a catch yesterday and useless in the outfield wasnt he our second best batsman in australia? :cantstop:
Sidhoni Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Nothing wrong with him finally getting his chances. A few more failures however, and he should be replaced by Yuvi
FischerTal Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 just like good old Luke Ronchi :winky: combination of barry richards, sunil gavaskar, and graeme smith :--D
G_B_ Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 On the issue of Ashwin, i think he deserves his place in the ODI team just about. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/26421.html?class=2;template=results;type=allround has a good record v England bad record v Aus and played 1 match v SA.
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 yes we do my friend. to threaten raina for his spot
SLICKR392 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 yes we do my friend. to threaten raina for his spot Another one.
Rob9 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 :hysterical: what's so funny dude? gambhir is a great ODI batsmen and has lot more years of cricket left in him. He's far better than karthik or other batsmen one could consider to walk in
Rob9 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 yes we should persist with gambhir and UV over the other better options just because they have already played ? if this thread is to defend gambhir and UV then this thread is as useless as DK They have not only played but are match winners and great players. It's not like we are talking about an aged bunch of experienced lot. Yuvi and gauti are still young. I agree that they were dropped on basis of poor form lately. But if it's about earning a place back, please compare their performances with so called Karthiks - badrinath's, vijay's, raydu's or even manoj tiwary. I am sure Gambhir and Yuvraj deserve a chance to return if they go well in domestic.
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Another one. well. we do need a second keeper as wel in the team. he fits multiple roles and is a good fielder as well

He's far better than karthik or other batsmen one could consider to walk in Its typical dude. They have a go at Gambhir due to his form but blame it on his attitude whereas Kohli has had a much worse attitude lately. Pretty hypocrite to admit that. Gambhir had no comments on Kohli's captaincy has been turned into a rude "comment". LOL
SLICKR392 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 well. we do need a second keeper as wel in the team. he fits multiple roles and is a good fielder as well Yeah, but Raina has been decent. Karthik is back to getting stars and losing it later on. Much better player than that. I would him give him a series or two more, these pitches aren't suited for DK.

SLICKR392 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 still **** away from home dude...... averaged below 30 in both champions trophy and celkon cup He did well in England the last time. He rarely got any chance in the middle order during the CT, like Dhoni. He played some half decent knocks here and yes, he has got to improve. raina is fine but is taking his place for granted He will get dropped if he fails in a series or two. The last players; Gambhir & Sehwag, took their place for granted were dropped by Patel and Co.

He's far better than karthik or other batsmen one could consider to walk in Gambhir is a decent ODI batsman and had a good year in 2010. But calling him a great is lol worthy. I used to like watching him bat during that year when he hit a purple patch, but the way he started poking outside off after that made it embarrassing to watch.
