My earliest memory of cricket is India playing Holland in the 2003 World Cup. I was nine and remember liking the orange jersey of the Dutch.

Yes ..I am from Bhopal... Funny things about these memories is that I remember these series images from 1983 but have absolutely no recall of seeing anything of World cup 1983 ..I think my father bought the Telly after the world. Cup ..I don't recall any over the top celebrations or such stuff in my neighborhood of India winning world cup ..or may be , I was too young to make any sense of that if there was ..I guess , one dayers in India took off only after world cup 1983 win and before that , neither the players nor the crowd took them seriously .. I do recall a one dater in 1983 when kirti aaas , current BJP MP and in those days , a hard hitting all rounder took Pakistani bowlers to the cleaners at JLN stadium,Delhi to win the match for India from a very difficult position ..those days getting 7 or 8 runs per over in asking rates was considered near impossible and he hit slew of sixes and fours in end overs to win the match for us..
