Macbook pro too expensive. Although it has to be said, the retina display is drooool-worthy. If money was no object would opt for a top of the line Alienware or something. And as Cabby pointed out, the I7 is too much power, and certainly don't want any heating issues. Instead of a top end processor I'd be happier with a top end graphics card. I'm pretty much gonna drop the I7 idea for now. If I can get a 13 inch MacBook Air with the latest Intel Haswel processor for about 75k I'd be pretty happy.

my sister has i7 based laptop form hp and it had heating issues too but does not shuts down and after cleaning it like once every 2 months now it never has problem i think newer chips are better but do u guys really need so much power in laptop ? go for laptop with better battery as gaming experience is never really good on these
I7 aside, I find HP products in general to be faulty. Personally I'll never buy anything HP.

^ no games on the mac so be ready to bid goodbye to laptop-gaming if you go for one.
True. But the new Haswell HD5000 processors do offer a glimpse of hope. Still nothing like having a discrete GPU which would be ideal, and if I can find reasonable specs within my budget on any other system, I'll be open to it.

I like that advice. Ideally i would like to wait. Thing is I'll be visiting India next month for hols and before I leave I wanna take a laptop back with me....owing to the currency situation and the fact that I made a bit of money on the stock market :--D

Oh. Well I didn't account for inflation, was merely converting Euros to Rupees. In addition I was also thinking of cashing in on my stock market gains and well there's nothing I can do with those rs but buy something.

Moreover, Apple will have to make a massive design revamp of their system architecture. Macs not being games-friendly is more a result of the OS. OSX does not allow the kind of unrestriicted machine level access to applications that game developers are used to in the Microsoft environment.
