Brainfade Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I am sick of this guy ripping into our bowling. From watching him bat, how does one scheme against him (other than just "bowl in the right areas - the corridors of uncertainty").
kumble_rocks Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Afridi was able to contain him well in the recently concluded Twenty 20 tournament. The trick is to bowl full, cramp him for room and do not allow him to chance his arm. I don't think it's good idea to bowl short or short of good length to him in particular.
Ram Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 He is known to a slow starter. Can be dismissed quite early in his innings. But yea , i agree with the OP. Just when we think we can have gotten past Hayden, Gilchrist and Ponting , out walks this man mammoth.
MundaPakistani Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I would think that a decent off cutter should do the job.
dial_100 Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I concur..... MP... it should be rarely used... a real shart one would do the job...but trouble is we lack a right handed bowler... Too many leftysss leaves no variation. They have dealt with our leftys quite well. So the trick is not working...
coffee_rules Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Spin to contain him. He is weaker against quality spin. When he takes more chances, he will get out. saala bhadwa.

theguyinallblue Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 :haha: @ Dandaroy... we should employ Chankya Niti when we are up against stronger opposition... not a bad idea Danda..:giggle:
yoda Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Weakness - PUS*Y! danda on a roll today. looks like an indian loss has given him a lot of material. :hysterical:

Danda definitely on song !
ludhianvi Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 spin draw him forward and making him play the sweep shot. Just like how Harbhajan was doing against Ponting. Had him in all sorts of trouble. Afridi used the same ploy against both Ponting and Symonds in the 20/20.

Thank you!..............you know famous compositions have been made by literary figures during times of melancholy.............Oh another loss in the next game and I will have my masterpiece!! :D
Bumper Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Bhajji needs to bowl doosras at him. Even Ponting couldnt read Bhajji's doosra well. Its certainly worth being a victim of Broad than a victim of Symmo
Rahul Khan Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 an over by pathan followed by an over by sree followed by an over by sachin followed by an over by pathan... paraiganda kardo symmonds ko...!!!
Bumper Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 an over by pathan followed by an over by sree followed by an over by sachin followed by an over by pathan... Is that to spot Symmo's strengths or weaknesses ?
Ram Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Is that to spot Symmo's strengths or weaknesses ? :haha:
Rahul Khan Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Is that to spot Symmo's strengths or weaknesses ? believe it...pathan bowls inswings...then sree bowls off and off stumps...sachin gives off breaks... these are the mixture of three different forms of bowling different length in line...and definitely, slow starters like symmonds can be noosed on...!
Mr. Wicket Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 This was England's idea for his weakness. Of course, he tonned up in this match... Rahul Khan 1
