Was mckay fast ,was faulknar fast no,was watson fats no.They bowled better lengths and line compared to guys like ishant and vinay.

Johnson won it for them. Scared the hell out of us. Put all batsman on back foot. Other bowlers capatilised on the havoc he caused in their brains. Everytime they got a wicket. First thing bailey dod was bring on MJ to have a go at new bat. Says it all

O ok. Fair enough Yep cool, lets stick with vinnay kumar and maybe bring in pathan and or nayar. As you dont need to bowl with wheels. I think we should focus on 78 to 81 mph bowlers who are accurate. Jai Hind

Australia could not get the ball away in the early overs because we were bowling straight on a good length. Not short enough to pull and not full enough to leg glance or drive. As soon as we started giving width or bowling too full/short, the runs started to flow.

This is the effect a true quick has. Bhuvi looks better with Yadav bowling quick and well on the other side.

Says it all Yeah i watched the game ,Johnson did bowl well and put batsman on backfoot with his pace but rohit played him well too.Aussie bowled like a team they has watson,faulknar,mckay who would take advantage of johnson bowling where as our bowling looked club level.We did not hit our line or lengths ishant speed was down after offseason by 5 km/h and he was short and wide,B.k is a limited bowler on this type of pitches and vinay well what can i say.

It was a fact that Faulkner and Watson bowled well and you've got angry. Maybe this says something about your dogmatic thinking. Pace will help, it will not solve everything.

Medium pacers like Mohit and Shami would do better than Yadav considering Yadav's recent record in ODIs. If Watto and Faulkner can bowl this good without much pace, why can't our bowlers? Get a move on. Pace isn't everything.

No one wants a 150 bowler to spray it. The point is to develop a 150 bowler who does not spray it. What would you prefer? A 90mph bowler who is accurate or a 78mph bowler who is accurate. if answer is 90mph bowler then we should be doing all we can to help develop such a bowler for 2015 world cup and expose him as much as possible to international cricket. Everyone knows fast bowlers are crucial to great teams. I have no idea why indians pretend differently!!

Length is the key in ODIs. If you bowl a good length before the death and not too wide, you won't go for runs. Short balls which are not bouncers will go for runs. Short wide balls will always go for runs. All that 145kph pace means is that the margin for error is greater. If Johnson had bowled half volleys and wide short balls, he would have been crushed at any pace.

So see no reason why he wont develop the accuracy. Some bowlers to bowl high 80s have to give everything and thats when wheels come of. Johnson is not having to push and can still clock high speeds. Yadav is similar, he can develop that accuracy at high speed if given plenty of exposure and handled right etc

There have been many many bowlers in history as well as currently, who are doing both. We should encourage our quicks to practice hard and bowl quick with reasonable accuracy.

At first I did, but his recent performances did not warrant a drop from the ODI team. However, your thought that only Indians drop fast bowlers is mistaken. South Africa dropped Steyn when he first played for them. Mohammad Sami was in and out of the Pakistan team, even the ODI team where he was pretty consistent. Adam Milne is not currently in the New Zealand team. South Africa have a guy called Vilgeon who bowls 145kph who has not played international cricket. England have had Dernbach in and out of the side even though he bowls quicker than pretty much any of their other bowlers, same for Stuart Meaker.

You keep looking at past, we need to plan and look at future i.e 2015 world cup. We need to do all to get that 90mph bowler ready for that tournament. Not playing for India and bowling 25 overs in one innings in Duleep trophy is not helping matters,

I just said that Australia outdid us in both pace and accuracy departments. It is not a case that we had accurate trundlers today who got smashed - they were wayward.
