DomainK Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I was once in a cab driven by a chatty Punjabi. The conversation (if you can call it that because he was the only one talking) drifted to Bollywood and how bollywood owes everything to Punjab. Then he goes "hamari bahu ko dekha hai?". I was lost there, but did not interrupt. I slowly understood that "bahu" is Hema Malini, even though the cabbie looked much younger to Dharam paaji. According to him, Dharmendra marrying Hema Malini was the ultimate victory of Punjab over India in Bollywood. Everyone (and he meant every single male in Bollywood, not just some lead actors) was after the most beautiful woman (and he spent quite sometime on describing her beauty). But it needed a real man to woo and win the most beautiful woman in the world and as it turned out, no man was as manly as Dharmendra was.
