Unless if they build some weird type of tall canopy, I don't see it happening. Hmm.. however what is the chance per match that such an incident might happen? I cannot recollect many instances from the down under series that happened with SA, NZ and Aus a decade back. And in any case, they can designate certain portion of the roof as either dead ball zone or six zone. I don't think this issue alone should kill the proposal.

Just approximate vertical height? One of the sixes hit by Alex Hales in this tournament easily traveled 150 meters high. I don't think they officially measure the vertical distance.

Let them sort it out first. After IPL,franchise owners took some interests in providing facilities/reserved seats etc...

When u live in US....it hardly matter if u r a indian or pakistan.....they get along well....

And if you've been to a rain curtailed game, you'd know as a spectator how frustrating it'd be. And don't get me started on D/L rules. Further its not just about rain. Sun can be equally a frustrating thing especially in 4 PM games in the IPL. People often have to come and take seats an hour before - which means at least 3 hours in the blistering 40 degrees Kathiri veyil (heat). Would we want to take our women and children for such an endeavour? Closed domes can be used even for some sizzling light shows and in off season used for hosting concerts, or even other indoor sports, activities.

But for T20s would it really matter whether it needs to be "exclusive" cricket stadiums? I believe they are the next step in cricketing evolution especially with T20s in India. I don't think many families would find it a chore having to spend 4 hours in a controlled temperature environment, and witnessing some cricket instead of having to sweat it out/wet it out.

Although I believe we can retro fit but might involve some good expenditure. And also being 'traditionalists' and most of the marquee stadiums being established test centers, they would be a bit reluctant to make sweeping changes to the structure of the stadiums - for the recent Chennai Chepauk facelift, the chap in my avatar even did a complete vaastu analysis:--D

Target the top 5 or 10, which holds 70-80% of all cricket matches, and implement. The IPL stadiums alone should suffice I guess.
