Back to the same old arguments- Dada 'created' a team, Dada was an 'attacking' captain when all that has been debunked so many times. H By that yardstick Pujara, Kohli, Dhawan, Ashwin, Jadeja, Umesh, Bhuvi and going forward Rohit and Aaron will all have been 'created' and 'groomed' by Dhoni. yeah right lol And irnoical how you say who cares about ODIs when all you have been doing is ranting against a couple of ODI losses. Looks like you do care

8-0 loss was the worst thing that happened in last 30 years for Indian cricket and supporters, it took Indian cricket back to the 70's, the choice of bowlers, captaincy and negative defensive thought process have been Dhoni's trademark and legacy in test's

Does not matter. A better bowling team will always have upper hand if they have a half decent batting. Jaysuriya was India's nemesis. We had SRT' date= Dravid, Ganguly. Other than them all others were inconsistent.
INDIA'S RANKING 2005-8 2013-1 So u r saying Vinay,Ishant,Ashwin> Nehra,Agarkar,Bhajji

There is not much difference in two bowling, but batting right now is far better and also other teams like Aus, SL, Pakistan have gone down.

Watching the DVD of the 2004 Jeet Lo Dil series...3rd test, Dada got run out plonking his bat carelessly. How many times did he get out like that? lol Oh and the 3 pacers in the test Irfan, Balaji and Nehra - all bowling between 77-84 mph, mostly around 78-79 mph -- all maha trundlers

Our pacers whether medium pacers or genuine pacers all struggled with No Consistency Syndrome. After a long time, we saw in BK and Shami in last Australia ODI hitting right length and not bowling short and wide or down the leg side stuff.

A captain who takes out second slip, wants fast bowlers to bowl line n length, a bowler whose USP was to swing the ball given 7-2 field, Dhoni is a horrible test captain, he looks and acts like a rabbit under the headlight when he is playing abroad, bats the same way and so is his captaincy, what kind of captain would have Vk playing in a test, BK rested and again VK in the team

Difference was Indian batting and England bowling. Indian batting was not that great at that point. We had 3 good ODI batsmen but rest were not as good or consistent. Likes of Flintoff made difference. We won Natwest series in 2001 but lost series in 2011 3-0. Even 2007 England ODI series result was close 4-3.

Shami and BK together produced some of the most consistent spells of pace bowling in tandem by Indians. And yet Mahendra" Long rope to existing players" Dhoni dropped Shami.

Shami bowled brilliantly against Pak on debut. He bowled four maidens on the trot which is an extraordinary achievement in ODIs these days against any opposition. Though I would say his brief time out of Indian team has only done good for him. He understood the kind of hard work he will have to do to sustain that place.

Yes he was so impressive in pak series. See thread on shami, many were so excited including me. Yet got axed for rubbish players. Insane

The long rope is a long rope in the set up. Players won't be forgotten about.

Ishant's uninterrupted inclusion in the 11 and 15 proves otherwise, doesn't it. Also, Dhoni has said in the recent interview that once a player is dropped , he is forgotten. So he is in favour of having him in the 15 for a long time.

Played vs England. Was dropped for Umesh Yadav in CT and WI series :--D The other two bowlers in that series BK and Ishant bowled much better than him vs Pak and in the subsequent Eng ODIs. Shami in the meawhile had bloated during the IPL, got his chance vs Zim where he again looked bloated and was out bowled by Unadkat. Next played for India A where again struggled a bit. As he said he worked on his fitness during the time on the bench, still looks slightly beefy for a test pacer.

Now that they have seen he's struggling he's been dropped. Not sure why should there be a problem with it.
