Sidhoni Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 It never happens. It was not like he was dropped and had to fight his way back. He was bowling well amidst that injury. So' date=' it only requires proving his fitness to make a come back which has already done.[/quote'] He didn't play a test for almost an year and now a new replacement has come in Shami who is in good form. I won't include potentially better Yadav over an in-form Shami.

Sidhoni Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Shami is not his replacement. Why not BK be replaced now by Yadav once he is back. Its not as if he was out for 1 odd test match or even one series. He was out for 7 out of 8 matches which is quite a lot. In domestic cricket he looked ordinary. How can he be played out of the blue when he hasn't proven his form? I would ideally want him to play Ranji to regain form before traveling to SA. If he regains form, he should be our main bowler for the SA tour.

He did well in between in ODIs 5-fer against Aus in one of the matches in CT, good show in final against England in CT, good show in IPL as well.

Because there has been nearly an year in between and things can change. I am not wanting him to be ripping apart line ups in domestic but a least a decent show would have done.

I am not wanting him to be ripping apart line ups in domestic but a least a decent show would have done. this is non sense ..and you know why? if this was the reason umesh would not have been in squad but he is in squad of 15 so he is good enough to play for india according to selectors. this is dhoni's own decision to pick bhuvi over him and a wrong one..and no it is not cos of long injury or return otherwise umesh would not even have been in squad
Old guy Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-west-indies-2013-14/content/story/686129.html great article about shami..he has been practicing reverse swing since he was 16 :D
Zanjeer Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Agree with few posters here. Bhuvi is not effective in test matches. We new need both umesh and shami if you are looking to pick 20 wickets. I'm keen to follow varun's progress in domestic matches. I think he will be handful in Sa as he also bowls at pace and gets reverse swing. I'm excited to see how pandey bowls, but if varun is fit, I would prefer him ahead of pandey. Even in Odis this trio can top the pakis bowling attack. and what a trio it would be. Umesh, varun and shami. A Hindu, Christian and a Muslim. Lol
Old guy Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 i disagree about aaron and in south africa bhuvi should play for sure..
G_B_ Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 even though i brought the subject up lets not dwell too much on this. Bhuvi is a fantastic bowler. but bowling with the old ball is an issue for him. For UP from what i have seen they attack with him in the first 10-15 overs and then he acts as their work horse for the next. Now if bhuvi's role is going to be that of workhorse then its fair enough. but then he needs to work on being really economic.

saneindian Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 in 4 man attack all bowlers should be able to pick wickets imo And he got his bunny Gayle who could have killed our attack, did his job.
G_B_ Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 And he got his bunny Gayle who could have killed our attack' date=' did his job.[/quote'] this is the windies. When england come IMO they will be in most cases 50-1 in the first 15 overs with KP still to come. In such cases you need all options on the table
Old guy Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 And he got his bunny Gayle who could have killed our attack' date=' did his job.[/quote'] which is good but there should we be happy with bowler who takes just wickets in one scenario..what will we do against better teams ?
Old guy Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 interesting stat bhuvan in his career so far (in tests ) has taken all wickets in side first 15 overs and 0 after that!
Old guy Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 i watching this match point on cric info also he has bowled 45 overs inside 15 overs and picked 7 wickets at average of 21 and has bowled 33 overs after 15 overs and picked up 0 wickets!

But Dhoni also has to make the decision to choose his XI and he might have thought of some valid reasons for excluding Yadav.
