A performance forgotten but it shouldn't have been. Tendulkar helps India tie the game against West Indies on his first tour to Australia.
yeah watched the highlights on star years back, was a low scoring match

Since, we are talking about bowling performances I think we need to look at performances where he has bowled more overs rather than one or two. In that aspect, I think there are following performances which stand out in Test matches. 4-2-10-2 vs Australia 1st innings 1992, Adelaide Wickets of Mark Taylor and Border (for a 8-ball duck) in 4 overs were crucial as India bundled Australia out for 145 in 4.5 hours on the 1st day of the Adelaide Test match. India lost the Test match but Tendulkar had played some part like he would do in the many times in the future. 5-1-10-3 vs South Africa 1st innings 2000, Mumbai The wickets of Gibbs, Kirsten and Pollock is amazing in the context of a low scoring match which India eventually lost due to whirlwind innings by Boucher. SA were 90-0 in the 1st innings against India's total of 225 (Tendulkar had scored a 97 - walked when the umpire didn't give him OUT). Tendulkar took the wickets of Gibbs after which SA folder for 176 - giving India a crucial lead in the Test match. 11-3-31-3 vs Australia 2nd innings 2001, Kolkatta We all know about this match don't we? Hayden (a thorn for us in the entire series and dropped earlier in the match by Prasad when Australia were 17-0), Gilchrist and Warne (off a googly!) were key wickets in letting us win the Eden Gardens Test match. We praise Laxman and Dravid (to a certain extent) but lets not forget that Tendulkar played his part too. In ODIs, I would rate following performances his best. 10-1-34-4 vs West Indies 1991, Sharjah West Indies were 39-1 and Tendulkar bowled gentle medium pace and took the wind out of WI's batting. He took important top order wickets of Lambert, Richardson, Logie and Dujon and WI could manage only a meagre 145 which India chased with ease. It would be safe to say that Tendulkar won this match purely on his bowling performance and was rightly awarded the MOM. 10-1-32-5 vs Australia 1998, Kochi India score 309 thanks to a breezy century by the in form Jadeja but Australia are comfortable in their chase at 202-3 in 31 overs. Tendulkar walks in - bowls off spin to LHB and leg spin to RHB takes the next 5 wickets of Waugh, Lehmann, Bevan, Moody and Martyn to puncture Australia's chase and register a win for India. Once again he won the MOM for purely his bowling performance. Also, Tendulkar would have had a hat trick in this spell (Bevan, Moody and Warne) had Mongia not put down a tough chance. ZTUY_3-ZKOQ

I remember seeing this guy bowl and turn the ball like Warnie, a gifted leggie but a reluctant one, he gave up on bowling long time back or else easily given the number of games he played would have been considered an allrounder

It might have affected his batting in some way

Sachin changed his batting a lot after elbow injury and before that or around that time also bowled less and less, this guy had a good action and very strong forearm to let it rip I remember him always able to turn the ball square and had the variety a googly, top spin, leg spinner which turned a lot, but legspin is a tough art maybe it was his mental decision to concentrate on batting alone

As a personal request' date=' can you upload that video, please?!!![/quote'] Currently, I am negotiating with some unsavory uploaders who are profiting from my Sachin videos, when i see some evidence of them being taken down I will upload some (or a lot) of almost unseen Sachin footage. Cant say it looks promising so far. Quite happy to sit on the footage and watch it myself.
