virufan Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Zaheer, Shami, Umesh should be in the playing XI for the first test.
Ghost Buster Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Zaheer' date=' Shami, Umesh should be in the playing XI for the first test.[/quote'] Zaheer being selected to the team is doubtful and you are saying play him in XI. :giggle:
Number Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Zaheer' date=' Shami, Umesh should be in the playing XI for the first test.[/quote'] Umesh shouldnt even be in the squad. Has done nothing in a long long time.
Ghost Buster Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Umesh shouldnt even be in the squad. Has done nothing in a long long time. Dont say that, umesh bowled well in test against england until he got injured. Man, he is the only bowler in india who bowls consistent pace forget shami he has just arrived. Have you forgot umesh's 5fer against aussies in aus.?
G_B_ Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 cricketnext @cricketnext 42s JUST IN: Zaheer Khan returns to India Test squad for the tour of South Africa, Gautam Gambhir ignored. #SAvsIND #ZaheerKhan #GautamGambhir
Old guy Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 is this the end of Gambo-Sehwag-Bhajji ? sehwag yes.. gambhir def no..bhajji should be back as back up spinner in next home series if he keeps performing
gattaca Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 is this the end of Gambo-Sehwag-Bhajji ? to be honest bhajji was long gone. Gambo brought his own downfall by poking outside off and dhoni in a wrong way.
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 is this the end of Gambo-Sehwag-Bhajji ? Why Gambo? Sehwag doesn't seem to care even after being dropped.

Looks like gambo won't be selected unless our openers fails miserably in 2-3 series on trot
GoldenSun Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Out of them all, Sehwag's attitude has been the worst. Look, I know it might be wrong to outright say that "he doesn't care".. but he hasn't shown the hunger or desire to play for India again. Atleast Gambhir went to County to try and regain his form. Sehwag had the talent, but he was always lazy and arrogant. He achieved a freaking lot than anyone ever imagined, but without proper footwork, and character, it was going to catch up with him. I was(and still am to an extent) still one of his biggest fans. The way he threw it all away in that 2nd innings at Melbourne pissed me off.
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Looks like gambo won't be selected unless our openers fails miserably in 2-3 series on trot If he scores runs consistently, it won't be long until he is back. 2-3 series is a long stretch.
GoldenSun Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Gambhir still has a bit of time in his favor unlike Sehwag. He needs to focus and remember how good he was and how he got there.
Old guy Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Looks like gambo won't be selected unless our openers fails miserably in 2-3 series on trot yeah they would give these guys lots of rope cos we are playing away from home and its fair as they are still new to international cricket and have shown ability to do well
saneindian Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Anyone who watched Gambhir last FC 100 (I did :P) would know he is not ready for international cricket return yet. In a way its good for him. If he gets picked with the technical problem still there and fails, this could be the end of his career. Now he gets time to play more FC cricket and work on that dodgy technique for some more time.
SLICKR392 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 ^ Yeah, thanks for that report from the ground. I am glad he isn't in the squad after reading your insight on that innings. This ton might have given him some confidence, hopefully plays a more fluid knock in the next game.

saneindian Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Gambhir's childhood coach Sanjay Bharadwaj needs to give him a reality check. No one else in the Delhi dressing room will tell him what is wrong with his batting. In Feb this year, Bharadwaj had said Gambhir has got some technical issues but off late I read a few of his statements saying how there was nothing wrong with Gauti's technique and that he's ready for a comeback when the reality is definitely different.

Gambhir probably MC BC'd him as well.
