There wasn't much seam movement or swing available. The bounce is the pitch was quite normal. Even Morkel wasn't getting unnaturally steep bounce. The pitch did not have great pace either. Most of our batsmen got out to either bad shots ( Dhawan ), playing with an angled bat ( Kohli,Dhoni ) or superb catching to full blooded strokes ( Rohit, Raina, Jaddu ) or bad umpiring ( Rahane ) . Complete lack of practice on South African pitches seem to be the main reason for this.

I actually agree with him. their wasn't much seem or swing. Look at the wickets none of them were difficult deliveries to negotiate. 280 was possible to get. Our batsman get way too much of a pass. And I am glad dhoni hasn't gone into panic mode when the test series haven't even started.

not an inspired effort from them. no one charges in with aggressive intent with only shami looking remotely up to it. umesh and ishant were in survival mode. they r low on confidence and rhythm.didn't produce anywhere near their more sharper spells.discipline in lengths were lacking.they shud have charged in and hit the deck.

Shami is as fast as the Saffers if he bowls to his peak which is just above 146, now 1 or 2 k is just for nerds, with his trajectory, swing, skiddy pace even 146 is more like 150 which is quick, Umesh can bowl 4 k faster on average in rhythm so he can go past 150, now that is seriously quick, if Zak can bowl his pace as showed in Ranji that good enough with his skills. Leave Steyn out and this SA bowling is not g8, Morkle is up n down and doesn't bowl the right length more often, Parnell normally gives away too many runs and has control issues, Tsotsobe , Mclaren are average bowlers. Aussie attack is better then the Saffers with Harris, Johnson, Siddle, Lyon.

I honestly believe that if you swap captains, we would win and they would struggle. They would have dumminy and miller bowling in 12th over, different game then

Why the feck isnt Pujara playing in ODIs? He's crucial for the test team. Most people see the ODIs as a warmup for the series. He would be perfect at number 4 or 5. His ODI List A record is great and hes in great form in tests. Yuvraj and Raina are sitting ducks there. As one of the few guys with a technique to play overseas he should be playing.

Glad I am missing this series because of finals. Dhoni is managing this attack like it was a CSK match. SMH.

IMO the par score was 260, so our bowlers conceding 280 isn't too bad considering at one point it looked like SA will cross 300. There were some glaring mistakes by Dhoni like not completing Shami's quota in the death, over-use of Raina and Kohli with the new-ish ball, etc. Today's loss was mostly a batting failure (as opposed to the previous loss which was a bowling failure - conceding 358 on that Wanderers pitch) as there was hardly any lateral movement after the ball lost its shine. Almost all wickets lost were due to poor strokes rather than wicket-taking deliveries.

Today it wasn't the track or bowling but loose batting, first three wicket to shots which were rash, Dhawan on uppish drive, Virat guiding the ball to the keeper and Rohit too, Rahane was not out there was a mile between the ball n bat, bowlers improved to limit to 250 plus but still need to improve both bat and with the ball.

strategy for winning 3rd odi India has lost the first 2 odi in the series.At the moment India 's batting and bowling are both looking vurnerable.What do you guys suggest that the team management should do to win the 3 rd odi.If this team was in your command ,with the available squad at your disposable and very little time to spare, what will you do to change the trend.

He shld have been in this series at no4 or even no3. Would have been a good practise for him for test matches. But shldnt play odi's in subcontinent. Weak fielding and running between wkts is his drawbacks due to injuries.
