Austin 3:!6 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I know due to political reasons these two nations don't play against each other. But this the biggest rivalry in cricket which no other matches can replace. I think fans across both nations are deprived of this spectacle. I for one would love to play Pakistan on a regular basis. So ICF'ers how many of you dearly miss Ind - Pak bi lateral cricket? And do you want it to resume any time soon?
gakgupta Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I really miss it .... esp now, as india is a better team as compared to Pak.... it would be fun
Austin 3:!6 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 I wish we resume cricket ties soon
GoldenSun Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 i don' really miss it, because as a guy who grew up in America for my whole life, I never saw it politically at all. It's just another series to me. I wouldn't mind if we had a series sometime. Although, I also believe that after 26/11, many fans would hate to see them come to India again.
ganeshran Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 With the exception of a few matches, India-Pakistan matches have been only charged up because of the political rivalry. The matches themselves tend to be dull affairs

Let it be T'20 WC matches in 2007, WC SF, or all bilateral series in recent memory, all have gone to the wires with emotions running high. Its definitely not a dull affair.

I love to broaden my horizons.

Except T20 WC, I didn't find any match thrilling from a purely cricketing perspective. Sure the Mohali match was charged up because it was the world cup semi final and the long standing history between the two countries. But routine bilateral series won't have that sense of occasion. Once the political issues are resolved, sporting ties can resume but I don;t think we should resume regular ties without any of the 26/11 terrorists being punished, which seems a bleak possibility as of now.

The Mohali match was not exactly a thriller to me. The build up to that match was greater than the match itself. Pakistan threatened at the halfway point of their innings, but lost wickets at regular intervals and we shut them down.
Austin 3:!6 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Heard PCB Chairman Najam Shethy was given assurance by BCCI to have a bilateral series with Pakistan next year. Hope for the best :nice:
Pagalpanti Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Not so much now tbh. Indo-Pak was exciting but it used to be fun watching Sehwag take on Akhtar or Asif. Tendu vs Ajmal. Now it'll be just like any other series probably just a bit more exciting but would not have the same flavour.
KFC_Zinger Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The dhaka match was good.... its wrong to say that these encounters lack good cricket... P.S. I do not miss Ind vs Pak as i just dont like them, i would rather watch India in Aus / SA / Eng.... I dont want to watch Ind play in or against SL / WI / B'desh etc etc

Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Don't give a crap I want more matches with England
Number Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 What a time to open this thread. 26/11 was exactly 5 years ago.

Detonator Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Ind-Pak matches are good during the time when we are in the same league as pakistan. It's like Aus-SA in a league, then Eng-Ind-SL-Pak-WI below them followed by NZ-Banglas-Zim. England made it to the higher league, and it's time for us to move on and to make rivalries with Aus-SA-Eng. I want SL-Pak rivalry now :hitler:
