Actually that's an interesting question - who is a jaahil and what is jaahiliyat. While it's impossible to cover all scenarios here are some examples of posts which exhibit this trait from the past month or so: 1. The with us/against us mentality. Classic example, if one is a Modi hater he automatically becomes a Congress supporter. Basically the inability to view the world in more than two colors of black and white. 2. Making attacks on other posters by invoking their caste or lineage. These are things on which one has no control over so to base an attack on them shows a high level of ignorance ie. jaahiliyat. 3. Showing disrespect for basic human rights of others irrespective of the absolute numbers of the community. Some recent examples are calling for the disenfranchisement of a community or equating basic sexual rights with the extinction of chihuahuas. While these scenarios are not exhaustive they do show some recent trends and examples of jaahiliyat on ICF.

It is both idealistic and unrealistic. These people come from among us.
So why do you think Indians are generally corrupt when people of first world countries are comparatively honest? "yatha raja tatha praja" a saying in sanskrit, A long period of corrupt polity and bureaucracy has made the society corrupt and in turn attracts corrupt people for the ruling. Not the other way round.

Almost entire undeveloped world and developing countries are corrupt http://cpi.transparency.org/cpi2013/results/ Just click on this and you will find most of world is either red or dark red , barring developed world This shows that India is not an exception. So being corrupt come more from whether a country is developed , developing etc.One reason may be because resources are limited.

Isn't it similar to if someone says good thing about Modi's administration skill, he is termed as Bhakth. And you have a soft corner for Congress that has been inferred from some of your posts, yes you hate Rahul Gandhi but you have never written anything against Congress Party in general specially sonia or MAnmohan which makes people think that you are Congress Supporter Is it such a big thing that you will name call a fellow poster like Zahil despite not knowing about him even .1% .
2. Making attacks on other posters by invoking their caste or lineage. These are things on which one has no control over so to base an attack on them shows a high level of ignorance ie. jaahiliyat.
That is a blattant lie. No one knows the caste or religion of a fellow poster it is you who always brings the religion of posters in a debate. This whole argument is based on one small part of discussion where you took a jibe on proffesion of the PM nominee of BJP and said chaiwallah's cannot think more than that. Then I asked you a simple question whether you beleive in Samantwadi vyavastha like many in UP. Then came some funny posts about which if I am not wrong YodaEscque apologized also.
3. Showing disrespect for basic human rights of others irrespective of the absolute numbers of the community. Some recent examples are calling for the disenfranchisement of a community or equating basic sexual rights with the extinction of chihuahuas.
I am not sure whether you know or not but sexual prefferences is still a debatable issue worldwide, even George Bush who was elected twice by non jahils of US has had reservations on this. We all live in a Democracy man, there might be difference of opinions but does that make anyone Zahil?
While these scenarios are not exhaustive they do show some recent trends and examples of jaahiliyat on ICF.
Are you so judgemental in your real life also oh he do not agrees he must be a jahil kind of person? Come on man aise to poori duniya main tumhari nazar main tumhare khud ke alawa koi non jahil bachega hi nahin.

And what Non Jaahils do - 1. Write arbitrary lies(like in above post) and blatantly attribute them to fellow posters. 2. Ignore facts to pursue single point personal agenda of Modi-bashing for ex. Ignore Supreme court's SIT's clean chit (and now dismissal of review petition regarding that) . 3. Suggest that other posters harbor negative views about one particular poster due to her moniker being a Muslim name. Or Accuse others of being religious bigots. 4. Curse other posters for no reason. Spoil the forum experience. 5. Be selective in criticism. Almost solely criticize BJP and say almost zero on congress, SP etc. :icflove:

Well if you don't believe what I wrote above to be the truth, that is absolutely fine. Each and every point is documented by posts on ICF. I don't know what is the reason you are refusing to acknowledge those facts. But just to address the George Bush point, a large part of his support base was rednecks and jaahils. Just because someone lives in the US, does not disqualify one from reaching jaahiliyat. Homosexuality is a scientific topic and if someone or even the majority believes the earth is flat does not mean anything. I was a jaahil with regards to the topic before coming to the US, interacting with homosexuals, reading up on the topic, and ridding myself of the jaahiliyat. Quite simply, this is not a majority-minority issue. It's a fact based one. And yes, since you are curious in personal life I tend to avoid more interaction than needed with people who view things in black and white, have disparaging views about someone based on their sexuality, talk about disenfranchising an entire community, invoke attacks on the basis of someone's lineage etc. But even after all these qualifications, there are a lot of people in the world who do not display such traits.

Is there any corruption gene which is prevalent in underdeveloped nations? Corruption comes from greed and lack fear for law enforcement. It has nothing to do with resources, else how would you explain most of the corruption is done by rich and powerful ? When law makers and law enforcement themselves are corrupt , it is deadly and over a time common people are also corrupted.

Yes law enforcement is the reason , but why law is not properly enforced ? Because govt can't afford more police , govt servants, judges and staff. Every govt procedure start taking time and this give more reason to do corruption.Majority of govt rules or procedure just remain on paper as lack of resources never allow them to be implemented

In Arabic, Jahil refers to the pagan people of pre-islamic era, and also to non-muslim cultures of the present day (like Hindus). Non-jahils would be those who adhere to islam or at least to some abrahamic faith. One can pretty much use the above connotation in this thread and nothing would change.

^ Every Govt. meets 10% of promises in first 6 months.
You know what I am talking about, don't you? VIP culture is reason enough to switch to AAP. They are honest people who are really doing everything selflessly for the country. This change that AAP is bringing in, commendable. It will be good for all of us. In the process we will benefit. :two_thumbs_up:
