ravishingravi Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 O-nBRuTKOmQ Campaigns can be quite tough and dehumanising in some ways. I like the fact that they made something on Romney. Brilliant guy but flawed candidate.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 This will be an interesting documentary. These guys spent many, many months with the Romney Campaign to make this.
gs Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Always thought the real person is nowhere near the image that he projected during the campaign

Jersey #10 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 He may have won had he portrayed him self as he really is. There is something called "trying hard" and then there is "trying too hard" to impress.
KhanSaab Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 He may have won had he portrayed him self as he really is. There is something called "trying hard" and then there is "trying too hard" to impress. He wouldnt have won either way.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Just finished it. I'm not sure about whether this could have turned the election or anything but IMO if the Romney Campaign had released something like this before the election then he surely would have got more votes.
Brainfade Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Just finished it. I'm not sure about whether this could have turned the election or anything but IMO if the Romney Campaign had released something like this before the election then he surely would have got more votes. His policies would have still been the same, so why would more people have voted for him? After all, people are intelligent enough to know that this is not American Idol, where you vote for the most likeable singer with a decent voice.
Ram Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Romney had NO chance. If you asked the left, they'd say he's too conservative. If you ask the right, they'd say he's too moderate. He was niether here nor there and changed his positions on issues as the wind blew that particular day.
Tailender Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 romney lost because of a confused conservative establishment
Sachin=GOD Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Romney to GOP donors: ‘I want to be president.’ http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-to-gop-donors-i-want-to-be-president/2015/01/09/ce5f821a-9848-11e4-aabd-d0b93ff613d5_story.html
zep1706 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Always thought the real person is nowhere near the image that he projected during the campaign Absolutely. People did not get to see who real Mitt Romney was. Whatever he did or said was to get votes. I always felt that he was a liberal inside who was trying to act as a conservative, sometimes ultra conservative. IMO that was the biggest drawback of his campaign.

IMO that was the biggest drawback of his campaign.[/quote'] He is very religious so he would have been anti gay marriage, abortion and even contraception via insurance. Business wise, I think Obamas plan has worked well and yes it took a while but the ideas Republicans had would have never worked at least in the long term.
AmreekanDesi Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I believe that Romney would have been one America's greatest presidents

coffee_rules Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I believe that Romney would have been one America's greatest presidents I read the same thing about Obama before he became. US President is riddled with special interest groups and Washington politics. There is very little room for legacy building for individuals.
G_B_ Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 so its Mitt v Jeb Bush? I mean seriously we talk about dynasty in India but has any family every had three presidents in the USA?
AmreekanDesi Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 so its Mitt v Jeb Bush? I mean seriously we talk about dynasty in India but has any family every had three presidents in the USA? false equivalence. Clintons and Bush etc have to pay their dues and run whole primary campagns, do fundraising and lead debates etc on policy. and our heroes like Prince Rahul are parachuted onto the leader of the party posts
coffee_rules Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 false equivalence. Clintons and Bush etc have to pay their dues and run whole primary campagns, do fundraising and lead debates etc on policy. and our heroes like Prince Rahul are parachuted onto the leader of the party posts W showed how Presidents can be parroted in primary campaigns/Fund raising (get big donor money), debates - with pre-selected questions and prepped by campaign teams. Anybody can be prepped with talking points with various combinations of words - American families , Jobs, economy, Reform, Healthcare. etc.
