RedFever Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 A sena poster in Thane reports from Thane are that Vichare of the sena has pulled slightly ahead of Gaik of the NCP. Collapse in the MNS vote. People have learned from the 2009 elections. BJP-SS has never lost in thane except for 2009 due to MNS.
G_B_ Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 People have learned from the 2009 elections. BJP-SS has never lost in thane except for 2009 due to MNS. well last time around mns fielded a strong candidate who was a union leader. This time around they have a weak candidate and sena fielded a strong candidate. Plus many MNS voters effectively voted for modi this time around. They will be back to voting MNS for the assembly elections. Dont think the mns cares too much about lok sabha

Number Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 BJP got only 25 seats in 2009 out of 117 that went on poll today. If NDA gets 60 this time, it would be great. Those areas of UP and Bihar are SP and Cong-RLD strongholds.
Number Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Mumbai south will go to Deora again I think. Good leader and then MNS helping his cause by eating into SS votes.

Number Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 SS elected member is really bad lol Yes. The MNS candidate was 2nd last time. It would have been better if SS wouldn't have contested this seat.
G_B_ Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Arvind Sawant is fine. Deora should hold on. But its going to be close. The three planks for Deora in Mumbai south were gujjus muslims and intellectuals. Gujjus have drifted to Modi and intellectuals to aap. It will be a lot close than what people expect.
Yoda-esque Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Ten reasons why South Mumbai did not vote 10. Clashed with Salsa class 9. Election whites not drycleaned 8. No candidate a hottie 7. Tony Jethmalani contesting from suburbs. Sigh 6. No valet parking at booth 5. Spotted servant in queue ahead of us 4. Driver not come 3. Elections over dude, Obama won! 2. No party tackling real issues, eg, reduce Gold Gym rates 1. No home delivery!
surajmal Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Some crowd in kashi today. Haters packing their bags yet?

There is probably a bigger koli community (who voted for mns) in that constituency than intellectuals. to put it bluntly, the marathi people in chawls (former mill workers) voted sena last time and the fisherman voted mns. Thats what caused the split in marathi votes.

Sachin=GOD Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Bow down to EC. You are great source if pride for all of us. http://m.ndtv.com/elections/article/election-2014/why-this-temple-priest-is-one-of-india-s-most-prized-voters-511237 Honestly speaking it has not done a great job this time. There have been lots of hate speeches but almost no punishment. In many areas, especially in Maharashtra, reports are coming in of thousands/lacs of names missing from voter lists. Then there is news of rigging of polls and/or faulty EVMs in many places. Maybe they haven't got the necessary resources from the Central Govt or co-operation from State Govts has not been there or some other reason but I have not been very impressed with the EC's performance in these elections so far.
bulbul Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Just waiting for RG's cropped, weired angle pictures of big show from Kejri :--D
