Are skipper and coach included in selction panel? Then on match days who actually chooses the team for the match? Is it captain and coach? What is meant to be official protocol in these?

Captain and Coach attend selection meetings but do not have a vote. 3. As a first priority chairman tries to get consensus on the squad, failing which a vote is taken. Unofficially, who the feck knows with so many power centers, vested interests, and corruption.

Good times.

On away tours there is usually no selector traveling with the team it is captain, vice captain, and coach, with captain having the final say. Though some of these things are flexible depending on who the captain is. Dhoni always liked to have Tendulkar's input before deciding on the XI. Dravid was said to have taken Kumble and Tendulkar's suggestions. Not sure what the current system is in Australia, but earlier on away tours captain, vice captain, and coach were the official selection panel for the final XI with all having an equal vote. Warne, when he was vice captain, was voted out of the team once in WI by Waugh and Marsh(? or whoever the coach was).

ThePhenomenal1 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Imo all members of an XI should be able to be dropped incl the captain if team keeps losing or if the captain can't perform or do his job. I feel that's the case with dhoni. You don't feel that he's the leader in the test matches. You do in ODIs but in tests its like everyone is gambling on something to happen when bowling. Hope selectors wake up and drop ishant, zak and dhoni from tests
