hhhhdmt Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 who are the ten greatest test batsmen since 2000? (i am referring to guys who made their debut in 2000 or later). I am curious to see how people rate the likes of Clarke, Cook, De Villiers, Amla, Pietersen etc.
rainy day Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 1. AB De Villiers 2. Michael Hussey 3. Michael Clarke 4. Younis Khan 5. Hashim Amla 6. Graeme Smith 7. Virender Sehwag 8. Ross Taylor 9. Kevin Peterson 10. Alastair Cook 11. Ian Bell 12. Misbah-ul-Haq 13. Jonathan Trott
fineleg Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Abdv will end up eventually as one of a kind all time great cricketer - given his style of batting, aggression, wkt keeping , consistency and regular fielding excellence too
Sachin=GOD Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Abdv will end up eventually as one of a kind all time great cricketer - given his style of batting' date=' aggression, wkt keeping , consistency and regular fielding excellence too[/quote'] I don't think so. He has done very well but seeing his talent, I think he has underachieved to some extent.
Sooda Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 1. AB De Villiers 2. Michael Hussey 3. Michael Clarke 4. Hashim Amla 5. Kevin Peterson 6. Graeme Smith 7. Virender Sehwag 8. Virat Kohli 9. Ross Taylor 10. Alastair Cook TEST batsmen ! Probably, not necessarily in this order but... Ponting, Kallis, Dravid, Smith, Clarke, Pieterson, Sehwag, Laxman, Chanderpaul, Sangakarra
hhhhdmt Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 Ponting, Kallis and Dravid all made their debuts in the 90's. I believe Chanderpaul did too. Kohli hasn't played enough test cricket yet
rainy day Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 TEST batsmen ! Probably, not necessarily in this order but... Ponting, Kallis, Dravid, Smith, Clarke, Pieterson, Sehwag, Laxman, Chanderpaul, Sangakarra I think the OP means batsmen who made their debuts in 2000 and after Kohli hasn't played enough test cricket yet Didn't see the 'Test' in the title. Will edit the list
Sooda Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 AH^ My bad. Yes he even says as much in the OP , lol I thought anyone who has played cricket since the 2000

Kevin Peterson 9. Alastair Cook 10. Ian Bell 11. Misbah-ul-Haq 12. Jonathan Trott good list, you're missing YK though. I sometimes tend to forget how good Hussey was, but yes he has a strong case for being #1
