I am outraged about feticide itself. For UK Unplanned pregnancy is very common. At least half of all pregnancies are unplanned, and in one in five pregnancies a woman will choose to have an abortion. I know abortion was the correct decision for her.

That is the solution for the next generation. Its not a perfect solution or even a desirable solution but it is still a solution. What else are you supposed to do when there are millions of more men than women ? You cant convince these men not to have kids. Indians are not that evolved as a society to consider overpopulation or personal fulfillment of life to be of greater necessity than to pop out babies. So what do you think these millions of men who outnumber females are going to do :? They are going to incentivise the situation to get their way. It is a sad state but a soluton nonetheless.
Ram Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I am struggling to figure who is the real culprit of this problem. When my mother was pregnant with me (I have an older sister), she tells me she was praying for her 2nd child to be boy. When my sister was pregnant with her 2nd child (she already had a daughter), she too was desperate for a boy (which turned out to be the case). My father tells me he was pretty indifferent to the sex of his 2nd child and so did my brother in law (he was in fact very adamant than we DONT do any sort of sex determination tests.). Between my wife and I, I clearly prefer a baby girl, while she has a soft corner towards a baby boy. So the question has to be asked - Are Indian ladies inherently biased towards boys, exacerbating the problem even more?
