mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Lol @pakis trying to be the voice of fair play and losing with grace. For a nation who supposedly has 'hidayat'- your cheap and petty actions on this forum tend to indicate otherwise. Way to go for giving dawah and setting an exemplary approach.......an exemplary approach for a dodgy used car salesman. Also just what planet are those ppl living on who think is was 50/50...Ian smith nearly lost his temper when it was given out because of the injustice of it all.
mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 This all reminds me of Warne's wicket during Harby's hat trick vs Ganguly caught by Clarke 2008. Fans on both sides have spent countless hours arguing either way for both catches. Neither was blatant' date=' or cheating, or corruption. When the evidence is dubious camera angles etc which can never be trusted at the best of time, there cant be a winner. Just have to accept it. Also recall Jayasuriya's dismissal in 1996 WC final, as tight a run out as I have ever seen in my life, insanely close, it couldve gone either way easily.[/quote'] Yeah but the point is that this decision was almost as obvious as Stuart broad's edge off Ashton agar. An incident Australian fans didn't 'forget' until his last ODI match in Australia. Not to mention a calculated campaign by your media against him in addition to Ur national coach almost inciting public violence against him. So excuse us for moaning about it on a forum.
BeautifulGame Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 People comparing this with Rahane decision are just dumb. That was an infield decision which was fair enough particularly with our opposition to DRS . Same as when Cook was plumb and went on to score 100 and win the series in India. You can't complain about on field decisions when u are opposing DRS in the first place. What happened with Dhoni was 3rd umpire blatantly refusing to use technology and apply the rules. That's blatant cheating for me. What next ? If the 3rd umpire gives a clear run out as not out then we should accept because its umpire's decision? If the on field decision was not a no ball then why the hell he check it? On field call applies when the infield umpire has made a decision and player challenges it . Here the on field umpire himself referred to 3rd ump because he didn't know himself. So no case of going with on field call. Its time we had neutral umpires for 3rd umpire as well . If we don't trust on field umpires to be neutral and hence go for neutral umpires they how can we trust 3rd umpire to be without bias?
mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Foot was in the air. Move on! Same stupid explanation already been used and discredited. Move on
Ultimate_Game Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Same stupid explanation already been used and discredited. Move on IMO it was the case of the call not being beyond reasonable doubt. 3rd ump couldn't have been 100% sure about the call and gave the benefit to the on-field call. If on-field ump had called it no-ball that call would've remained as well. That being said someone from the India team management or the ref should've had a word with umps to watch out for the no-ball against Wagner since he was always on the verge of no-balling and in many cases he indeed did bowl a no-ball but was never called. On field umps should've been given a heads-up if they were not catching on to Wagner's no-balls.
mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I've seen in numerous crunch situations in NZ and South Africa- home 3rd umpires can't maintain their composure and give fair and objective decisions. Blatant partisanship from Billy the plonker Bowden

Blatant partisanship from Billy the plonker Bowden IMO our coach should've had a word with the 3rd ump and the umps during a break to look out for Wagner's no-balls coz he was doing it often. Somehow our coaching lacks in cricketing smarts. if it had been any other team, folks like Flower, Lehmann, Hesson etc. would've had a chat with match officials in a jiffy.

The on field umpire didn't make a decision for the third umpire to fall back on, it was totally the third umpire's call. But yeah he didn't have conclusive proof that it was a no ball so fair enough.
mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The on field umpire didn't make a decision for the third umpire to fall back on' date=' it was totally the third umpire's call. But yeah [b']he didn't have conclusive proof that it was a no ball so fair enough. even if this was the case- in recent history- don't most decisions go in favour of the batsmen i.e. least aggressive option. Secondly, should not the 3rd umpire spend more than 2 seconds to get to any conclusion. It's like he was scared to review further video angles in case he had to give it not out
CG Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The real issue is how can a 3rd refuse to apply the laws of the game. No it wasn't a poor decision. Poor decision is what happened to Rahane . Fair enough that happens in cricket and we move on. But when a 3rd despite having all the technology and slow mo available simply gives the wrong decision its clearly intentional. If not then we fans should be explained the thought process behind that by ICC U keep on saying how boring test matches is.May be umpire got bored and wanted to end as crowd was also low.Joking
CrazyCric Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Same happened with Watling dismissal in the second innings , umpire didn't notice the front foot no ball by Ishant and he didn't even call for third umpire to have a look as they do normally these days. What goes around comes around.

It is assumed to be OUT unless proven otherwise with no balls. This means any benefit of the doubt goes to the bowler. This is very different to lbws.
mancalledsting Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Not really, As a fan of cricket I don't really mind if our players don't play in the IPL. I personally prefer international cricket over these minor leagues. Sure the players and administration have asked to be in the IPL. But you cant really blame them when they know the riches they can get from the IPL. My only issue with the IPL is that not many international games happen when the IPL is going on. So a person who rather watch international cricket is forced to see this circus you call IPL. lol @ 'forcing'
BeautifulGame Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 U keep on saying how boring test matches is.May be umpire got bored and wanted to end as crowd was also low.Joking Well I am pissed off becoz I wake up at 3 all 5 days to see a match ultimately decided by 3rd umpire's bias.
vvvslaxman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 This wagner dude time and again touches that line bowling round the wicket. Not sure if umpires watch it closely enough.
Karan114 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 10th defeat in 11 away Test matches and some fans are whining like *****es about a marginal no-ball against a hack. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: India is a laughing stock in world cricket because of how diabolically bad it is at Test cricket and the most hated team on the planet because of the way it uses money to bully everyone, but OP can only whine about a marginal no-ball against the CSK superstar as if this perennial failure in Test cricket would have won the game for us. Dhoni never was and never will be a proper batsman, has just made millions off Indians' utter lack of appreciation for real cricket.

rageaddict Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 LOLOL Yeah. As if that Chewtiya Dhoni was going to win the match for India if not for that dubious dismissal.
Pakistan Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 You guys lost the match in the first innings by dropping all those catches. Is this 2 match or 3 match series?
