The first ball from Ashwin got a wicket. So it was not a bad move after all. Kohli should have brought all the fielders close in and tried to keep Junaid on strike.

Forget todays match' date='In general i have seen spinners and last over most often team loses.[/quote'] I think it depends, tail-enders generally find it hard vs spinners. While a proper batsman would prefer a spinner..

No point, a meaningless dead rubber against a minnow. Any good performance will be rendered irrelevant It is better if none of the play, because a failure there would mean being dropped

We ran into Afridi back luck. He plays like this once every ten or fifteen games but he can hit big shots even off mishits. Very few batsmen can fluke and mishit two consecutive sixes. He is a strong guy.

Its not a sure-shot success but for a tail hitting a spinner would rather be tougher than hitting a pacer.. unless the bowler your facing is MJ or Steyn

these are loser statements and promote mediocrity. Like after today bhuvi will feel he did enough to make his captain proud...we need professional set up...Fear keeps your focused. It may put pressure on you but thats why you are playing for the nation. absorb pressure.
I am pretty sure people will be told in the dressing room.

And Rayadu.....
Yeah, he did well. Rotated the strike and scored run a ball against Ajmal, Afridi, Hafeez and other bowlers on this pitch which was helping spinners and stopping a bit. His innings helped build the score as another wicket at that stage would have meant India wouldnt have reached 200. Good to see some steel under pressure.

Those two hoikes were agricultural at best. It was his day. But my complaint was Feck De India's performance. Why did Fatwin bowl the last over? He must have known Afridi was going for a hoike!!!
Afridi was going to swing at anything anyways. That is the way he always plays. Only one gear to his game. He fails nine times out of ten but luck was on his side today.

August 25. England Tour - 5 Tests, 5 ODIs, 1 T20. :((
Nah.. pretty sure we're touring Zim for a ODI leg before that ... all will be good then :two_thumbs_up:

You have to play the situation, there are no rules. It was obvious here that Afridi was going to give himself room and throw the kitchen sink. Should have bowled it wide outside off stump.

Karma has finally come back to haunt India, for all the atrocities they've committed against cricket such as the IPL,big 3 draft,Srinivasan etc.Hope this losing trend will go on for a long time & Indians will lose interest in the game and give it up.That is the best thing that can happen to save this noble sport ...

Afridi is not the typical tail ender, he can smoke the spinners and he has done this many times. A pacer who can bowl a good yorker may have won the game for India.

I think for sc player pacers are more difficult than spinner .Even generally a good yorker is difficult to hit for six but even best ball of spinner can be put on stands during final overs.
