chammakchallo Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 mitchell is a different character all together belonging to a different class
rkt.india Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I don't get why there's so much hype over Umesh Yadav. Just because he has pace and plays lesser then Ishant you guys cry over him. Indians cry over bowlers while Pakistani's cry over batsmen. Someone needs to make this crying stop. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk Because he has 32 wickets in 9 matches average 32, SR of 46, a young 26-year old bowler who can bowl 145KPH and needs more backing and is future of India, not Zak who is 35 years old, past his prime and his experience has not won us a single test overseas in last 3 years.
Debutant Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Umesh and Aaron both can clock 145-150K easily. Aaron did it in last ODI against NZ. Yadav did on Aus tour. It is all about how much support he can get from his captain. Delhi Daredevils coach TA Shekhar asked him to bowl as quick as he can in IPL and he was consistently 145 plus there. You can still check videos of 2012 Aus tour and he was 145 plus most of the times. Aaron mostly was bowling at 138 to max 141. If they can easily crank up to 150 then why don't I ever see them bowl above 150 atleast 10 deliveries in 10 over spell. Mostly I see 137, 138 and occasionally 142. I never get this myth of can easily crank up 150
King Tendulkar Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Umesh stats are good, as well as pace His stats are better then all his trundler competitors. Yet never picked Disgrace

I never get this myth of can easily crank up 150[/quote'] Aaron was coming back from injury so his pace was not that high in first three matches, but probably you did not watch 5th ODI. He averaged 143K in that match for 10 overs, quickest being 150K. Here is from cricinfo, look at how many of them are above 143K, several 145K. He was reasonably very good in that, match, apart from one over where he had bowled 2 bad balls, especially bowled well in batting PP and slog overs (conceded just 25 runs in those 24 balls). Here is Umesh Yadav for you clocking 90 mph average speed. As I said, it is all about encouragement from the captain. If thee 2 get that from Dhoni like Mitch from their captain, these will clock that pace too. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itozuih545s]Umesh Yadav 149.9km/h @BowlingSpeeds on twitter - YouTube[/ame]
Debutant Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 ^^ I did not watch this match. Those speeds are impressive. ps: As I told not a single one above 150 so how can you say they can crank up 150 easily ??
rkt.india Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 ^^ I did not watch this match. Those speeds are impressive. ps: As I told not a single one above 150 so how can you say they can crank up 150 easily ?? Even Johnson is not bowling 150 plus. His fastest yesterday was 150. Anything between 145-150 is enough. There is hardly any bowler who bowls 150 plus in test matches and remember Aaron was just coming back after 2 years. He did bowl few at 147-150 which is 91 to 93 mph and anything touching 150 is called express pace.
express bowling Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Umesh and Aaron bowl 137 k to 148 k as their most common pace range when they are fit. They are out and out fast bowlers. Not express but fast enough. Shoaib, Lee and Johnson just for the last year or so have bowled express in test matches after the speed guns have been regularly used.
rkt.india Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Umesh and Aaron bowl 137 k to 148 k as their most common pace range when they are fit. Aaron will be the quickest if he stays back injury free for next 6 months and is back to his full fitness, not vary of that injury and is allowed to express himself. I still remember David Warner ones tweeted about him just before IPL in 2011 to Matthew Wade that "He is the guy who you would not want to face even in the nets. He is Varun Aaron." I had seen him once bowl to Ganguly in the nets before IPL 2010 before his first back injury and Ganguly was not able to touch his yorkers. Those were that quick.
express bowling Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 yadav isn't worth the dirt off of mj's shoes Even MJ a year back was not worth the dirt off current MJ's shoes. :--D

Agree with you RKT, point I am trying to make is Umesh has potential to be as successful as MJ only thing that is required is shown trust on him and give confidence unfortunately that quality is not there with Dhoni or he is backing wrong players, If Umesh goes for few runs on some patta wicket he cricise him openly, I think Dhoni likes bowlers who are line and length type and does not encourage real Speed type of bowler, I wish Umesh had made his debut when Ganguly was around, Ganguly was dying on having out and out fast bowler like Umesh and Aaron. Cricketing knowledge of some of the poster here make me wonder if there is any understanding of cricket or have played cricket them self or they are just modern era "bacchas" leaving in a mordern day metropolis who are good at posting blogs. Let me be clear MJ is better then Umesh no doubt but only just if you give MJ 9 out of 10 then Umesh is may be 8 by same comparison.
cowboysfan Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Aaron will always be injury plagued, a finger cut before an important match????
CSK Fan Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Same with Paki's :hehe: Why is this everyone's comeback lately? when in doubt blame pakistan
rkt.india Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Aaron will always be injury plagued' date=' a finger cut before an important match????[/quote'] it can happen in the nets caused by seam of the hard new ball, nothing serious. He never had any injury apart from back stress fractures which is natural for genuine pacers. Mitch was as injury prone as him in his early 20s who also had 4 stress fractures.

Let me be clear MJ is better then Umesh no doubt but only just if you give MJ 9 out of 10 then Umesh is may be 8 by same comparison. One quality that is separating MJ from most other genuine quicks playing now, is the steep and surprising bounce he is getting at high pace and accuracy. Because of his slingshot action it is very difficult to read where the ball will come. He could not bowl these kinds of deliveries with this frequency and at will like he is doing now, even a year back. Umesh is very quick. But he has not yet perfected a consistently dangerous bouncer yet. It is more hit or miss. When missed, they become half trackers at waist height. He needs to work on this. But, that being said, he is a genuine wicket taker in the longer version and a supporting captain will help him become even more potent. He and Aaron have tremendous potential and the Indian team is not tapping it. I agree with you that I too ,often get the feeling ,that there are many posters here who have not played any cricket with a deuce ball in a proper sized field. Too many theoretical points are being made without any practical angle. Back, to Umesh and Aaron, .... they can become really dangerous bowlers in their own way, maybe not in MJ's mould but good, quick wicket taking bowlers in their own style.

Aaron can be quick, but on a separate note - Ganguly, Raina - these are not the batsmen who are benchmark to evaluate reflexes to judge speed of bowlers. Those folks are below average batsmen against quicks.
Tailender Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 same goes for the paki trundlers :hehe: Yeah... those guys that have played a combined total of 15 odd test matches... Still, I think comparing Irfan and Junaid to Ishant and co is pretty unfair on ishant and co... :cantstop:
