helperononline Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I feel ipl is the main reason behind our poor bowling attack foreign batsman have seen our bowlers` tricks and got used to their bowling now they cannot trick them any more look at malinga he was excellent bowler who has turned crap in recent years every batsman find him easy to play him because of ipl even ashwin bowling going down because batsman have seen all his tricks and plans in ipl there was a time when our spinners picked most of the wickets in newzealand and SA but now ab de villiers faf and mccullum are playing spin well thanx to IPL what do you guys thinks ?
Debutant Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 How come nobody is able "see the tricks" of Styne and Morkel. Stop reading Pee Pee too much. It can affect your mental state.
helperononline Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 How come nobody is able "see the tricks" of Styne and Morkel. Stop reading Pee Pee too much. It can affect your mental state. they bowl at a better pace but our bowlers do not rely on pace
GautiMaan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 ^ Then that is what we must do too. Also its not like our bowlers were world beaters before ipl
helperononline Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 ^ Then that is what we must do too. Also its not like our bowlers were world beaters before ipl check last newzealand and SA tour how did bhajji managed to pick so many wickets i think he was man of the series in nzl why our spinners are not able perform like this today ?
Debutant Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 they bowl at a better pace but our bowlers do not rely on pace Then why are you giving Malinga's example in the OP. You are telling as if Indian bowlers were world class before IPL. Some people will just blame anything and everything on IPL
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 PP Forum se aaya hai yeh. :cantstop:
CG Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Its not Ipl but what we make of Ipl that matters. Gavaskar said-There would be no change in the test match squad for england unless somebody has a Outstanding season in the IPL. Thats the problem we are picking odi and test players form ipl.
helperononline Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Then why are you giving Malinga's example in the OP. You are telling as if Indian bowlers were world class before IPL. Some people will just blame anything and everything on IPL malinga does not depend entirely on pace he relies on his variation slow delivery and yorkers which he is not able to delivery these days batsman are playing him easy while steyn depends upon pace due to IPL steyn has improved his bowling he learned reverse swing bowling in indian pitches while morkel learned to bowl yorkers in ipl Then problem is our players are not able to learn anything new by playing ipl infact foreign players are learning more from us while we are losing our plot Its not Ipl but what we make of Ipl that matters. Thats the problem we are picking odi and test players form ipl. exactly we are picking players based on ipl performance it was horrible when srikanth was selector he kept picking every player based on IPl no importance was given to domestic
G_B_ Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 dumb thread IPL is played in India, In India we have been great over recent times. Since IPL started its been one loss to England over a period of 6 years. Changes though need to be made in ranji cricket. Thats where you need pitches offering plenty of bounce.

G_B_ Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 mark my word we losing to SA in India next if IPL is continued in india we will continue to make our batsman FTBs while our bowlers would become more useless when that happens fair enough. cant see SA winning jack with the spinners they have an a lack of kallis. but lets wait till that happens I am sick and tired of people blaming the IPL for all their ills. Its the easy way out. The IPL does not make MSD a poor captain overseas
Debutant Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 How many matches Gayle or Pollard or KP play against an Indian bowler say Ashwin?? Hardly 10. So in 10 matches they learn the tricks of Ashwin??? How is it different from an international match if they are playing for different franchises ??
TheWall Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 mark my word we losing to SA in India next if IPL is continued in india we will continue to make our batsman FTBs while our bowlers would become more useless suggest you stop following cricket for sometime or atleast IPL...

How is it different from an international match if they are playing for different franchises ?? not only by playing dont you think they discuss batting & bowling strategy ? sachin helped in improving pollard`s batting while dravid helped kp in dealing with left arm spinners http://sports.ndtv.com/champions-league-twenty20-2013/news/215011-t20-cricket-helps-me-take-good-care-of-my-family-says-kieron-pollard http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/england/8564090.stm suggest you stop following cricket for sometime or atleast IPL... I stopped following IPL after FIXING issue Will stop following cricket if fixing is proved against any players in the current Indian team
Debutant Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If foreign players are gaining from these so called discussions, then Indian players are also getting the same opportunities. They are also getting to work with greats like Wasim. They must be discussing about the weakness of batsmen. Why are they not improving??

By your logic, they should have scored tons of runs in India because of playing in IPL.
