Those fulfilling the criteria have more probability of making the Indian team.

He is that kind of a captain. gives a lot of time to the players. TBH some of his moves can make you pull out your hair, but whenever he is captain , I feel we always has a chance. He is the kind of captain who expects his players to understand their role. He doesn't overtly criticize them but does give the looks if they are not up to the mark. I admire the style of his captaincy. It may not be the best but he does have results to back it up.

Giving long rope is fine but not during major tournaments. Yuvi was clearly out of form and in T20 you need your inform players. There is no time for a player to get this form back in this format.

At the 2009 T20 WC Dhoni gave endless rope to Jadeja and crashed out early. Does the same again this tournament with yuvraj and same end result. Dhoni just never seems to learn and repeats his mistakes again and again. For the longest serving captain in world cricket that is unforgivable.

We have little to complain about Dhoni's tactics or achievements in the shorter formats. He has already achieved a legendary status here, and bettered every former India captain and ranks with the best captains ever. He may have his weaknesses for sure, but the overall results since 2007 is there for every one to see. His long rope club is not a bad one - except perhaps for Ishant, and to some extent Rohit. Raina, Jadeja and Ashwin have won a lot of matches for India, so not sure what the problem is. Yuvraj was a gamble gone wrong, they obviously relied on his big match achievements, the plan just went awry. As a test captain, it is a different matter. You can't blame Dhoni fully, no captain would like to tour with the kind of pace bowlers Dhoni usually had.

Shorter formats are essentially a batsman's game. It is in test matches that the bowling depth is really tested. If you know how to contain, you can win a lot of ODI/T20 games, but you will be sure disaster in tests if you can't pick up wickets.

Add Mohit Sharma to the club. No real skills apart from playing for CSK but somehow manages to get regular games.

Any primary school teacher can tell you that kids who are backed enough, any kid, will deliver results over and above their mean. Jadeja is a classic example, he should be no where near the test team, has limited skills. You can kill off even the most skillful player by putting them down and not backing. You can make ordinary players punch above their weight by just supporting them. This is what is happening. I am not saying these guys have not achieved but their are players who if backed would have been the next thing 2) Blame bowlers all you want but truth is, fast bowling had improved under last 2 captains. It has gone back now. And you have to admit Dhoni has no idea how to use fast bowlers, none at all. He has no long term plan, no idea. He uses them as a foil for spinner You can blame bowlers all you want but everyone knows they are completely green with hardly any experience. whereas the captain misuses them on top of that. Fast bowling will never ever develop under Dhoni, that is a fact
