I read that it is extremely rare for a plane to disappear in the stage of the flight this plane was in. It seems most of the crashes occur during takeoff, landing, climbing stages. The plane was supposed to be cruising on auto pilot when it suddenly disappeared and this makes the accident all the more serious.

I think we have to wait for the investigations to complete to reach that conclusion. They are still clueless as to why something like this happened in the supposed safe stage.
Yes but if it's problem with such basic thing then I would be worried to get onto plane

No, the problem here is that the way the plane disappeared seems very suspicious First of all, the flight will be on auto-pilot with the pilots just checking everything. It is not possible for auto pilot to fail completely and even if it does, pilots have enough time at cruise stage to take over Secondly there are multiple methods of communications available, even if the plane loses all power pilots have still falls backs they can use to communicate and inform about the failure. This plane was there on radar one moment and gone next with no attempts made by pilots to communicate at all And finally the time taken for the plane to completely disappear without any communication seems to be very less. Almost like the plane might have hit something or exploded in some other way

An extraordinary story has just emerged from Italy in relation to missing flight MH 370. Luigi Maraldi, 37, from Cesena, was named as one of the passengers on board the plane. However, reports in Italy have confirmed that he was NOT on board and that he had reported his passport stolen last August. Mr Maraldi's parents have spoken to him in Thailand and he is 'fine', news agency ANSA reports. The revelation suggests that one of the 227 passengers on board the missing flight was using a stolen passport. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-live-3219331#ixzz2vO8g7Jyn Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

A SECOND passenger on the flight was using a stolen passport, it has emerged. Austrian Christan Kozel, aged 30, has been confirmed as safe and well by authorities. He said his passport was stolen when he visited Thailand two years ago, Austrian newspaper De Standard reports. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-live-3219331#ixzz2vO8pd6ca Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
Reuters have spoken to the Austrian Foreign Ministry spokesman in Vienna said and confirmed the second missing passport. "Our embassy got the information that there was an Austrian on board. That was the passenger list from Malaysia Airlines. "Our system came back with a note that this is a stolen passport," he said. Police found the man at his home. The passport was stolen two years ago while he was travelling in Thailand, the spokesman said. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-live-3219331#ixzz2vO8t4EfT Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

Based on these couple of stolen passports story, terrorism angle is being insinuated which very much seems possible. There was no distress signal and no other issue reported. Something happening to craft at that height and that sudden is inexplicable otherwise.
