Radar Hits of 'Significant Size' Registered in Indian Ocean: Flight Crew
A flight crew scouring the southern Indian Ocean for a missing Malaysia Airlines plane tells ABC News that they're getting radar hits of "significant size," indicating something lurking below the water's surface. ABC News' David Wright, the only TV reporter on board the US Navy P-8 Poseidon, said the crew tells him the radar indicates "there is something down there."

why the **** were the going to antarctica...
Yeah.. that is perplexing. Why they would try to go to Antarctica. Only logical thing which I can think of as of now is that everybody onboard was long dead and plane kept travelling on auto-pilot. There can't be any other rationale for plane to be even south of Australia.

If everybody in the plane was dead and the plane was in auto pilot , then shouldnt the plan be found north of China.. I dont seem to understand this auto-pilot thingy.. it goes to a place where its been programmed.. In this case, it was beijing.. Shudnt this planehave entered china then??

Now how the plane landed at south west of AUStralia from there is a mystery... What I'd like to know is... where is Diego Garcia and how far is the debri from that island... :hmmm:

* A US search flight over the Indian Ocean has drawn a blank, according to Fox News and ABC. US Navy says P-8 Poseidon aircraft completed 10-hour search mission over Indian Ocean and found nothing * Australia has despatched four search planes and two ships to the area. So far there’s has been no word on the results of those searches. * Experts warn that the possible debris could have drifted dozens of miles since images satellite images were taken on Sunday. The search operation is being further hampered by poor visibility in the area. SO far...nothing...

I dont trust Tony Abbott' date=' lets wait for confirmation. That Tony guy is a clown[/quote'] To be fair - Tony is relaying the information that is passed on to him by the S&R team. It is not like he is conducting the search and deciding where the debris came from. The info coming to him would have been analyzed by experts. After the information mismanagement and confusion created by Malaysia, Aus probably wants the info to come out from a single source. And it appears as if Aus has decided that the info would be delivered through the highest sources Anyways, getting back to what's happening on the ground: Authorities should know something definite on the possible discovery of debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane within “two or three days”, the Australian Associated Press quoted Defence Minister David Johnston as saying in Jakarta Below is the statement from Malaysia:

As for the investigation, I hope it is not carried out on the basis of what theory is convenient, which departments/organizations get absolved of the blame, and in that case who the easy targets would be. While there are people to fight for various agencies and organizations, there are probably not many who can stand up for those on the plane

Has Hyderabad techie located MH370? mh3701_0_0_0.jpg The satellite image of the purported Malaysian plane over Andaman Islands. Hyderabad: Hyderabad techief Anoop Madhav Yeggina has found satellite image of a large aircraft flying very low above the Andaman Islands on March 8. Could it be Boeing 777? An IT analyst by profession, Anoop Madhav Yeggina has probably stumbled upon a vital clue about the missing Malaysian plane, The Hindu has reported. Yeggina has been rummaging through innumerable images of DigitalGlobe Satellite QB02 over several days till he came upon an image that dumbfounded him. He told The Hindu: “I am confident that the image is that of the missing plane because of many reasons. First giveaway is the fact that the image was captured just above a forest and very close to the Shibpur air strip of Andaman Islands. The air strip is exclusively used by the defence forces with no permission for civilian aircraft in this area. A close look at the image will reveal if it is flying extremely low so much so that the clouds are above it which suggests it was done to avoid detection by radar. Most importantly, the standard scale measurement and colour of the missing plane matches with that of the plane in the image,†said Mr Anoop. The 29-year-old is among lakhs across the globe involved in the ‘crowd-sourcing’ project to find the missing plane, the report said.

Malaysia jet search: India declines China's request to enter waters around Andaman and Nicobar Islands
NEW DELHI: India has declined China's proposal to allow four of its warships to join the hunt for the MH370 jetliner near the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago, even as it is now dispatching two aircraft to Malaysia to join the international search force that is now scanning southern Indian Ocean off Australia for the missing 777-200ER aircraft. Officials on Thursday said China's request to allow its four warships, including two frigates and a salvage vessel, to enter Indian territorial waters has been "politely turned down" since Indian warships and aircraft are already searching the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea around the 572-island cluster. While the Chinese warships are free to sail in international waters, Indian forces will obviously be unhappy about their presence anywhere near the strategically-located Andaman and Nicobar Islands. "The A&N command is our military outpost in the region, which overlooks the Malacca Strait and dominates the Six-Degree Channel. We don't want Chinese warships sniffing around in the area on the pretext of hunting for the missing jetliner or anti-piracy patrols," said an official.
