SLICKR392 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 so who is better ?that is very simple question for me he is easily the best in world right now across three formats . TBH i cannot even think of any one else who is even doing decently enough all formats other than kohli and to some extent faf who has been ok in odis Faf isn't half as consistent as a Kohli or AB. Especially in the LOIs. AB's a choker in ODIs and if I had to pick one, I would vote for Amla. Maybe Kohli by the end of the Aus tour.

SLICKR392 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 and amla is not a choker ? A better Test player, no? So overall he edges AB.
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 A better Test player' date=' no? So overall he edges AB.[/quote'] that is debatable specially after recent series before south africa's tour of australia amla was better but since that adeliade innings abdv has looked like a proper test cricketer and played much better than amla . also amla comes no where close in odis and t20's even if stats says so

TBH i cannot even think of any one else who is even doing decently enough all formats other than kohli and to some extent faf who has been ok in odis I voted no as i have seen abdv struggle against sreesanth outswingers and the way he used to open him up it was atreat. But on his performances currently across all formats you have to say he is the best.

T20 WC is a good start-Let us see

TBH Not much technical flaws with AB in recent times...Having said that he isn't the best in the world

T20 WC is a good start-Let us see i totally agree but right now there is no batsman in world who covers all the basis (please dont troll ,please dont troll, please dont troll ) dhoni is great under pressure but sucks in tests kohli is great under pressure and is doing well in tests but is only starting and in tests abdv easily is better than him even under pressure . amla is worse than abdv ..he does not even score anything in tournaments ,abdv atleast performs before choking :cantstop: cook is doing badly even in tests now and clarke has only been good in tests and even there lately he is up and down..warner has done well recently but in just 2 series and tbh its not gonna last for long we all know this .

ABDV is not the leader of S.A batting till now.....he is No3 and sometimes 4 between him and Amla...once they have substandard replacements for Smith and Kallis that will be his real test. Even M.Clarke looks vulnerable after Punter and Mussey's retirement.......Smith,Warner and Haddin have been bailing them out. Right now the best batsman in all 3 formats is.....wait for it......drum roll...... Virat Kohli :--D

SRT>Lara>Punter for a reason They lead their batting and were run machines even when the chips were down. Don't let AB's boomboom innings in comfy situations fool you. Kohli has already played much more epic innings than AB in all formats

Kohli has already played much more epic innings than AB in all formats kohli might surpass him i future ..i already rate him higher in odis but abdv wins in tests and t20 and by big margin ..in odis kohli wins cos of his ability to handle pressure like you said :two_thumbs_up:
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 BTW lara carried windies batting much more than sachin ...so ....:vroam:
maniac Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 BTW lara carried windies batting much more than sachin ...so ....:vroam: Walsh,Ambrose,Bishop>Venky,David Johsnon,Kuruvilla
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Walsh' date='Ambrose,Bishop>Venky,David Johsnon,Kuruvilla[/quote'] these guy batted ?:omg:
CG Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The fact that he keeps so well is also a huge plus and now captain.
maniac Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 these guy batted ?:omg: They defintely helped to ease pressure :winky: anyways going back to AB....Good to great but a choker and not the best right now :winky: I will have S.Smith in my team over AB in pressure must win situations:--D
