I am not saying this because I am a Sachin fan but I really mean it. As an overall cricketer, Kallis is better. But he is an all rounder and Sachin is a proper batsman so this comparison is not fair.

Not one or two because he played for a LONG time. And not some bullshyt vague explanation. Since he played for 24 years, how about 6 concrete instances (1/4 or 24)? Don't get me wrong. Sachin is probably the most gifted batsman of his generation. But his average is pedestrian in comparison (the biggest metric of a batsman, IMO) and his contribution to the team as MVP is questionable in tests. When it really mattered Dravid and Laxman have stepped up more than Sachin.

Where he single-handedly changed the course of the game. If he is hailed as the best modern batsman and a cut above others, I would think he would have many of those!!!

I was having a chat with an English fans and most of them rated Lara way higher than Tendulkar and whether you like it or not but those failures over the 0-8 is what most folks remember. Try having chat with non-Indian cricket fans at your workplace etc. and you will see what I mean with folks especially rating Sangakkara quite highly. Yeah, thats because white guys dont like asians.If worst comes to worst they will still rate lara higher next to white guys. All they know is Boycott, bradman, ponting, sobers , lara. Have they ever rated Tendu or Sangakkara or Younis Khan. Never. To these white fans , these cricketers never exist. That is how thdy are. Piece of tosh.

But neither Lara nor Dravid were second innings specialists. Dravid had the capability but rarely delivered when it mattered. When was the last time Dravid played a Faf like innings, under testing conditions against a tough opponent?

Generally its tougher to bat in first innings overseas and the pitches ease out.Most of india wins have come when we have had strong first innings score like in leeds or Nottingham even against nz . If u want a match saving innings it has to be manchester test against eng in 1990 and Nottingham test in 2002 where he saved a match.
