I agree that BJP should not compromise much. The Muftis cannot be trusted at all. If they do have a deal with them, BJP must insist on the CM post and important ministries. Otherwise, no deal. Let the Muftis, Abdullahs and independents/Congress put together a khichadi government.

then dont ally with anybody control the state via home ministry and push development that way. At the end of the day Kashmir is a poor state with a population less than delhi or mumbai.
Not happening. If BJP doesn't form the Govt then PDP will get support from others - everyone is extremely desperate to form the Govt there.

bjp close to deal with pdp by the looks of it turns out Abdullah son and father wanted to be part of BJP gov but their own party elected members vetoed it. PDP to get CM chair first and BJP to get home. BJP to give up 370 discussion while PDP to give up its close relationship with sepretists

mlas_2258000f.jpg picture tells you all what you need to know. Long term BJP is on the rise while there has been only a decline in the congress. Trinamool and NCP are just some of the parties which split from Gandhi leadership which are big. YSR congress is only recent in a long line of people they are shedding. Paints a picture about the congress, they are shedding and creating so many splinter groups that the secular space is being totally eroded. Even in kerela where they are in power the congress has shed so many splinters. and keep in mind a big % of these congress MLAs are in extremely small North east states like say Manipur. The actual population per MLA metric will paint a much dimmer view for the congress. A state like Delhi with about 15-16 million pop has 70 MLA's. While a place like Manipur population barely 3 million has 60 seats. Arunachal population barely anything has 60. About 100 of the congress MLAs are worth hardly anything in the national stakes.

and this raises another big issue why the hell does Puducherry have 30 mlas for a population less than 1 million? Thats nearly 30,000 per MLA. Just further highlights that number of MLAs metric is misleading. States like UP Bihar maharashtra Andhra pradesh (united) have big populations represented by a single MLA I would say based on population per mla about 30-35% of India's population is represented by a BJP mla. For the congress they number is about 20%

Time ripe to win Delhi: Amit Shah tells BJP workers

NEW DELHI: BJP chief Amit Shah asked party workers on Tuesday to continue the party's victory march in Delhi. Following BJP's performance in four states, Shah said this trend should continue and they should make the most of the "favourable circumstances". But he warned against groupism and said tickets will be decided by the senior leadership.

'BJP membership reaches 10 lakh mark in West Bengal' http://zeenews.india.com/news/west-bengal/bjp-membership-reaches-10-lakh-mark-in-west-bengal_1522479.html lets assume he is boosting the figure and its actually 8 lakhs. Thats still a big spike. With such numbers i feel bjp can get about 20% of the popular vote.
It's very impressive if true....... But Momta has recently been giving WWE-style open challenges to the BJP........:fear:.........she is confident as she has the illegal immigrants vote bank sewn up....... 2016 is still a year away though.......

thats exactly what the bjp want the goal is to become the leader of opposition in 2016 Ditto Tamil nadu. The goal of forming government in the states in unrealistic. Would be much better if the AIADMK and the Trinamool sweep states in assembly elections and the BJP emerge as the second largest party. After that the BJP will automatically attract factions of the CPM and DMK respectively.

Ex-Cong MLA joins BJP

Two-time legislator from Shakur Basti Dr. S.C. Vats, under whose chairmanship the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in Delhi Assembly had indicted Sheila Dikshit government over privatisation of power, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party along with his supporters including a sitting Congress municipal councillor Jyoti Agarwal on Wednesday. Addressing the reporters after taking membership of the BJP, Mr. Vats, who has been secretary of the All India Congress Committee in the past, said he decided to quit his parent organisation as it was witnessing an ‘ideological vacuum’ and decided to join BJP due to the ‘impressive and transparent governance’ provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Welcoming the leader, Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha said “he assures the new entrant that he would never be devoid of ideological satisfaction in the BJP”. In 2005, the PAC had cast serious aspersions on the role and conduct of officials and even pointed to ‘monetary benefits’ having influenced the decision-making process to benefit big business houses. The report was adopted unanimously by the Delhi Assembly. The Assembly also gave its nod for a CBI probe. The matter is currently sub-judice before the Delhi High Court. Replying to a specific question about the report, Mr. Vats said he “still stands by the report and would help his new party in taking the matter to its logical conclusion”. The entry of Mr. Vatsa in the party, however, stoked speculations in the BJP circles about the possibility of the former Congress leader being fielded by the party from Shakur Basti. While Mr. Vatsa claimed that he is not joining the BJP with an eye on an Assembly ticket “and he is ready to work for the party as a normal worker”. Sources within the BJP, however, said going by the electoral strategy of the party - of fielding current and former legislators of other parties by poaching them just ahead of the polls - implemented in the States where the party emerged victorious recently, Mr. Vatsa stands a good chance.
