I feel our batters did pretty good. I feel it more because of dhoni selections than anything and defensive fields. Selecting a bowler like zaheer who seems to be running on a single leg is criminal.

I think even selectors are at fault here. Selecting way past peak zak & worst bowler in history of cricket again & again is simply plain unacceptable.

Trundler27 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 IMO on current form, aussie's are clearly #1 in tests and the rest of the ratings are pretty fair too! Our test side sucks big time and i wouldn't be surprised if we fall to the west indies/sl level soon under dhobi's captaincy if nothing changes.... only bright spot has been the youngsters in our test batting line-up (kohli, pujara, rahane, and maybe dhawan ocassionally) and shami as the lead bowler overseas. We absolutely have to come up with at least a drawn series against a sputtering english side or else there are dark days ahead for Indian test cricket.

Invers has done a fantastic job overseeing the dog days of 2011-2013. Rod Marsh, Junior, and Trevor Hohns are vital additions. Marsh, especially has a great eye for talent. We'll need to find a way to win in the subcontinent, and win consistently in the test arena, until there is a gap between #1 and #2. Regarding this summer, I'd say India has a good chance in England, if they pick the right bowlers. If the batting fails, then I see England triumphing. In 2011, England were a well-oiled machine on form and India sputtered against the West Indies going into that series. India can prey on a still shaken England.
