Forget, so called left leaning authors even guys like Meghnad Desai who have been decidedly pro-Modi otherwise have expressed similar views. My advice, change the perception creating mechanism from relying on what few authors are saying to doing more analysis with neutral perspective. I think the same authors would have given you the feeling of number of seats BJP is going to get in general election or how Modi conspired Doordarshan to Hamid Ansari not saluting. If a person sitting in NewYork forms a perception about a remote village incident of Bihar after reading the analysis of London or Mumbai based journalist then something is definitely wrong. BJP has millions of members of which 300 or so are MPs and 60 or so are ministers. Equating it to a corporate set up that represents people directly reporting to the CEO. How much more higher management do you want? Yes and out of 300 or so MP's , should I form perception based on what one odd MP is saying or what the PM and other seniors are saying. If I have to form a perception about government of India, then I would rather make it on the basis of what the Prime Minister said from Lal Qila on 15 August and not from what one odd MP said during non formal media interaction. Good for you that you take everything very seriously. I don't. The responsibility of making sure my 2 year old brushes his teeth every morning is much more than what I post on ICF. Here is something which Left Leaning Journalist will not tell and someone with similar experience will. :winky: Your 2 year old will definitely going forward brush his teeth in morning. I have a 4 year old daughter and with my experience I would say focus on whether he is brushing the teeth during night before sleeping or not. It is very hard to convince kids about brushing the teeth twice, they mostly try to skip the brush during night.

Just look at all the states then went to polls in the last few months or are about to go to polls in a few month/next year - every single one of them has seen some communal riots. Bihar is set to go to polls in a few months but communal situation has already been made worse by BJP than it was a few months ago - just to get votes. UP goes to polls in 2017 but groundwork with regards to polarization has already been started. You can ignore it all you want but its out there for everyone to see.

You can ignore it all you want but its out there for everyone to see. in Mangalore i have seen communal tensions from past 2 decades irrespective of who is in Power. Unless you have proper data of communal violence your argument is hypothetical or based on rumours.

Jharkhand: Cannot recall any such incident J & K : come on man, you need two different communities to have communal violence, their is only one. Haryana: Unable to recall any such incident. Maharastra: After UP, the most communally sensitive state has been more peaceful then ever during the election days. Any other example of state which has recently went for polls?

Why don't you substantiate your claims with some metrics rather than just making blanket statements?

When you say worsen, it means the situation has become "in comparison" direr. This comparison is possible only if you get reliable data for both periods, and then do a comparison of the two numbers. I don't see any such comparison above. Instead you are exhorting me to go and check something which really wouldn't give anything to support your original hypothesis. Also like in all sane arguments, if you say there is something, the onus is on you to prove it, not on others who contest it. Because, in absence of verifiable proof, the argument is always rational on the part of the guys who say there isn't anything.

Many such facts are out there. I don't have the inclination to provide links to them in the age of Google, but listed out one anyway. And what exactly has Modi said anyway - 10 year moratorium on communalism, WTF does that mean. He even did not denounce Nirupam's remarks outright but made excuses about her background.

For once lets assume that whatever you are saying is true about Bihar that conspiracy theories which will make even Pakistanis proud is correct so what is option, either the non BJP government should provide such a good governance and such a great law and order that BJP will never come in power or BJP should be given power back again. Is there any third option? You cannot hide inefficiency or zaahilpana of state ruling parties by using BJP. Prove it or apologize. It's not one odd MP. To answer your larger point there is a movement under way to defeat BJP in Bihar. Few years back I couldn't have imagined chearing for Laloo but jaahils have an amazing way!
