LINK We hope the "Great Tweeter" will Tweet about it when he comes back from his international tour.
At times I wonder, how never ever anybody raise any questions about Raman Singh's govt. All sort of things have happened in last few years in Chattisgatrh. There was an incident where 76 Jawans were killed. There were another incident where whole Congress leadership was wiped out along with 20 others. Umpteen numbers of other killings of forces. But nobody gives a damn and this guy keeps going without being challenged. Naxalites would easily have killed more people than terroism in last 5 years or so. But it easily goes under carpet. Time to take some action.

Nope . The MSM will never muster the courage to ask tough questions from the state or center , but they will keep pushing the "good governance" BS. Last year the Director General of CRPF made a statement that certain states (alluding to Chattisgarh , jharkhand & odisha ) were allowing Maoist violence to continue but there was no reaction in the media ! Imagine if the DG CRPF had made a similar accusation towards AAP State Govt in Delhi , what would have been the reaction in MSM and Social Media ? Perhaps they would have accused the state Govt of being Anti-National ? Traitorous ?

It has become comedy show on ICF. Posters will post a link from MSM to highlight how MSM is silent on the issue. They cry out most about Indian Express while they don't realize that when start a thread on the basis news article from Indian Express. Time that media should stop working as cheerleaders of Modi. That aside I am really concerned about the silence that goes around the killing that happens through naxalites.

You have got to be kidding me. The MSM has spent infinitely more time on Narendra Modi's suit, and on church "attacks", nun rape (which were used to falsely accuse BJP only), ghar wapsi etc. In fact, if there is one issue which was sensationalized to the hilt (and had nothing to do with governance whatsoever) it was the suit. The media is only interested in topics which can be used to malign Narendra Modi and BJP exclusively. Raking up the Maoist violence drags in other players (naxals, UPA failure etc).

You probably don't' date=' [b']but the kind of blowback that this would create both on domestic and international fronts would be mighty difficult for any Indian govt to withstand. I don't think even Modi's "communal hindutva" BJP with all its majority has the cojones to do.
Obviously I'm not talking about seizing ANY assets of religious institutions but the scheme that Govt is planning to bring for temples w.r.t. gold can be expanded so that if religious institutions want, they can let the govt use their idle resources (be it gold or money or other assets) in return for interest.

CRISIL Report

Indian economy grew at 7.4 per cent in 2014-15 and 6.9 per cent in 2013-14 and expected to grow at 7.9 in 2015-2016.

" Don't compare new GDP data series with old" : Chief statistician TCA Anant

April 14th 2015 New Delhi: Chief statistician TCA Anant, seeking to end a controversy over new economic growth numbers, said it would be possible to make meaningful conclusions only when data for previous years is made available. "Once the back-series is worked out and understood, only then-...higher growth rates relative to the past become meaningful," Anant said at a conference called by the Central Statistics Office on Monday to dispel doubts about the new numbers.
LINK Meaningful numbers are not necessary , Mr.Statistician . We are already convinced that there was ZERO progress for a decade and then "Great Leader" single-handedly rebuilt the economy in a single year.
India's economic growth was revised to 5.1% in 2012-13 and 6.9% in 2013-14 in the new GDP series. The old data had pegged growth at 4.5% and 4.7%, respectively. Advance estimates for 2014-15 indicate growth at 7.4%. Experts have doubted the data, arguing that growth under the new series is not consistent with high-frequency indicators such as industrial production, which increased 2.6% in the first 11 months of 2014-15. Anant says such comparisons are unwarranted in the absence of past data
"Otherwise, it is like comparing apple to oranges. It is entirely possible that 5% growth rate in the old series is qualitatively in the same ballpark as 6.5% or 7% in the new series. :hysterical: .......the new series of national accounts reflects or represents a series which is structurally very different from the past.
Morgan Stanley : "This acceleration in growth is not corroborated by the underlying broad-based growth indicators," the US bank said in a report, which estimates India growing at 7.9% in FY16 under the new GDP series and 8.4% in FY

Really need to go through the total data and process to comment on the numbers. There seems to be lot of mess created around numbers, may be with the vested interest of putting numbers in good light. This guy had generated numbers for Gujrat which were questioned by many, so won't be surprised if he is up to same thing at center.

The numbers for Gujarat are "generated" by the statisticians in the Central govt.

We have many of them. Just like when you use a pest repellent, these lizards run away every time a new AAP or Congress controversy is unearthed. They come back when effects of the repellent start fading away.

India's push to accommodate a booming urban population and attract investment rests in large part with dozens of "smart" cities like the one being built on the dusty banks of the Sabarmati river. So far, it boasts modern underground infrastructure, two office blocks and not much else. The plan, however, is for a meticulously planned metropolis complete with gleaming towers, drin ..
