Gollum
As much as I hate to say, Sanga is truly a gem in the history of the game. Very few people play as elegantly as him. Amazing consistency, scores in all conditions against all types of bowlers. Though his behavior sucks he is probably among the top 5 batsmen produced in the subcontinent. The way he is going Sachin's record is under threat. Won't be surprised if he ends up with 15k runs at an average of 60+. :hatsoff: Link to comment
rageaddict
Definitely an ATG of the game. Link to comment

BlueBee
A Legend but I would say a cheater. #spiritofthegame Hatsoff Though :hatsoff: Link to comment
BlueBee
Sanga has something that Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Miandad, Gavaskar and many many others don't have... A Test century at Lord's! That is why he's not an ATG! Link to comment
saneindian
Average in England - 38 Average in SA - 36 Average in India - 37 Average in WI - 34 Those number will pull down his status as a legend. Similar to how average away performances meant Sehwag could not become the legend he should have been. A Lankan legend for sure, but surely wont get into a World 11. Link to comment
saneindian
Do ICFer's think Sanga can replace Gilchrist in an all time XI test team? Really? Why should his performances purely as a batsman should be clubbed with his performance as a keeper-batsman? Remember back in 2009 when Sanga was also the captain and when Prasanna Jayawardhene got injured before a test vs Pakistan, Sanga did not even keep wickets instead handed over the gloves to Dilshan! http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/403367.html Link to comment

Same lot here have a go at Sehwag who has far better stats overseas than this guy. Sanga is prolly the best batsman IN subcontinent. Link to comment
zep1706
Do ICFer's think Sanga can replace Gilchrist in an all time XI test team? No. Gilly provided a different kind of strength to the team, coming in lower down the order and smashing bowling attacks to pieces. As a batsman there are quite a few that I would include in the middle order before Sanga but Gilly is one of his kind. He is also a much superior wicket keeper, Sanga is an average keeper. donks1
sanga should be the sub continent batting representation on an all time team. murali is the spinner, imran is the all rounder and wasim is the fast bowler. pretty simple really. Link to comment
