Will Ronaldo step up tommorow?

maniac

Recommended Posts

Well Portugal's last shot at R16 tommorow and from what I have heard there is a world renowned rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi and obviously as of now Messi has raced way way ahead during this world cup.....Will this motivate Ronaldo to put in a performance of a lifetime? What will it mean for U.S.A :nervous:

Only thing he does is go for a short run showing off his dribbling skills only to give the ball away to a defender. lol
Then you have not seen him. Messi is good but not as good as Ronaldo. Ronaldo is all round footballer. Great speed, dribbling, finish, strength, aerial presence, free kicks and crossing. Its not his fault that Portugal team is poor. In the match against Germany, he did not even get the ball.

Comparing him to messi who has been on fire this WC is a joke. He may be great in club football, however when it comes to WC the guy has done NOTHING except the last minute pass in the game against the US.

Many players don't perform that well for national teams. See his club performances. Greatness of a player is not depended on international performances

Hmmm, I guess for those of you follow club football you have a soft corner for guys like Rooney and Ronaldo who fail in the WC. For those of us who mainly follow football come WC time, there isn't much for us to go by other than the WC. In either case, the greats that people talk about like Pele and Maradona are those who have done well in the WC. The ones who have done well in club level seem to be dime-a-dozen. It is the biggest stage and if you can't perform there, why should you be considered a great?

Au Contraire, greatness is defined by how you play for your national team...

How about Ronaldo kicking the ball 2 miles away from goal post from a close distance while Messi evades 2 defenders and GK to score a goal from the same distance. I have been watching Ronaldo in all world cups. He is just a drama queen. May be a hit in EPL like Rohti sharma in IPL. In a world event even unknown players have done better than him.
