vvvslaxman
A win like this will help them from a fitness stand point. Teams that played 120 minutes, Teams that played hard fought matches will need more time to recover.
India-KXIP fan
Germany always play with possession and control.its like saying Barcelona were the Better team because they had they controlled the game better,of course they will. France had some great opportunity but.finishing was poor. Germany didn't play for possession today. It was clear from when they started Lahm at RB and not holding mid instead had Khedira in center. They were gonna play more direct like 2nd half vs Algeria rather than tiki taka style Bayern play and they played against USA and 1st half vs Algeria. In the 2nd half I was very surprised though. Germany seemed content with the lead and just sat back for the counter. Something you don't associate with them. They were struggling to keep the ball for first 30 mins or so of second half and France looked alot more likely to score. Until the 2 counter breaks which were great chances in last 15 mins Germany were having a fairly unconvincing 2nd half and was uncharacteristic of them to just sit back and counter and be content with 1 goal lead. Yoda-esque
If they get Brazil it will be easy win They already beat one of the best team :cantstop: South American teams will be different, esp Brazil

adi B
Check the other posts' date=' no one else thinks the same[/quote'] That's because they have seen France play better football than this.thoroughly disappointed with France' finishing. See Germany will always play with possession and control, its their style of play.no other team had almost 50% possession like France had today and more shots against such s strong German side.france took them on but the finishing was poor.germany were better in the 1st half though
PBN
not that exciting of a game though i kinda expected it when two big teams meet. germans are pretty efficient in getting the job done reaching the semis. winning the big thing a different thing altogether . SLICKR392
Pobably the easiest match for Germany after portugl match lol They couldn't score as much they wanted but they never looked troubled against USA.

vvvslaxman
They couldn't score as much they wanted but they never looked troubled against USA. They hvad to run a lot more against them unlike this match where they were just strolling around and casually defending whtever France came up with. Partly becuse France played worse than what lower ranked teams did.
SLICKR392
Yep. French finishing was poor despite the awesome crosses. They had their chances. Gotta credit Neuer too.

Absolutely.France tool them head on.don't know which other team apart from Brazil will play with almost 50% possession against Germany. Holland will let Germany all the possession and hit them with pace on the counter but I bet they won't play like France did today

Very uncharacteristic of them to sit back on counter, let opponents have ball, be content with 1 goal lead but to be fair in the last 15 mins they had 2 golden opportunities on the counter. Still first 30 mins of second half were fairly unconvincing and only France seemed like they could get a goal.

I know the expectations were high from France and their finishing was poor but just look at the no.of chances france created in the highlights, you'll be shocked to see.they were poor in the last.10 mins
