The Indian batsmen are making the bowling look so tough. They have only themselves to blame if they choose an opener who's not performing. A run rate of 2 is funny, given that the bowling isnt looking so deadly.

This shows complete lack of mental aggression.

Starc has bowled quoted a few floaty deliveries in the 2nd session but they have not been put away.

No mental aggression plus no plan. Just makes you wonder what the team management, what the coach has been doing all this while. This accumulation of run is no strategy. You dont need a coach to tell you how to do this. Indian cricket to me seems to be going back to the 90's.

Indians should try to put rookie Green under pressure.

This is something which we have lacked traditionally and have been overly kind to their rookies but its reverse other way around

Our debutants or rookies are shattered with the onslaught and are made to look mediocre, look how people look down to Saini and others

Why don't we do same to their rookies?

This team has lacked strategy and planning for a long time.

Look at how we have packed the batting line-up with consolidators against pace bowling. Only Kohli and Shaw can play fast when they want. This is why we needed Pant to up the ante during easier batting periods in the game.

Rahane, Vihari, Saha and Ashwin won't attack the bowlers either, with any consistency.

Not having Pant is a disaster. For me, Gill's omission is also a big mistake.

Saha's batting approach is too meek. He maybe ok if we are 80 for 5 or something. He grinds and hangs on.

But in Australia, he will most probably come in at 200+.

We badly needed Pant to score a quickfire 50 or 100 and put pressure back on Australia.

If Gill in not included when Kohli leaves, we will know that there is something personal going on.
