Could be anyone out of Pant, Samson, Jurel. In ODIs I would like to give Pant a chance as he had finally started performing in ODIs before his accident. He won that match single handedly against Eng scoring 130 odd IIRC.

He's still iffy. Jurel has a game ideally suited for ODIs. Can consolidate if early wickets fall (has the technique), can rotate strike, and can also hit hard and fast.

Do not want to drag this thread in different direction, but Ind should look elsewhere fr white-ball wkt-keeper batter.

All 4/5 of them kl, sanju, jurel,pant,kishan has some issue its either batting or position or game

Think his power game ,he is ok down the wkt, but elsewhere think lacks power to be a lower-middle order batter(#5/6/7) .

In IPL as well most of his 4/6 have come in longoff/long on direction.

I was talking about such late debut. He could still have played 70% of their matches with so many injuries and bowler rotation.

He was injured not sured if recovered or not but signed up for BPL.

Most player in their 30s with no central contract are taking league route,

 

it was started by NZ players now every1 seems to go that way give themselves 3/3.5 yrs of league cricket and then transition into coaching or some other role.

This is kind of win win where player are getting to play league and when board needs them they come back and play.

Selection of Prasidh obviously seems poor because of SA tests, but some pacers have come back stronger after poor first 1-10 tests

Team is confused tbh.

 

It was supposed to happen when back to back losses goes to the head..

 

They wanted someone who can bowl back of length deliveries, went with Prasidh coz he is tall and his natural length is back of length. But his fuller deliveries are floaty and can be harmless.

I am not worried about Prasidh. He may come good. Even if he doesn't, that chance must be given to him to succeed again. 

 

But Harshit is a 23 year old tall, quick, aggressive pacer who picks wickets.  He could have been our enforcer pacer.

He ran out of steam surprisingly fast in his later spells. He could have come in for Siraj perhaps.

Every Indian pacer is running out of steam later ( including Bumrah who has never suffered from this before )
