99 days out of a 100 India would have been allout 350 if you rewind back to yesterday. Rohit is probably as effective a bowler as Binny too :cantstop: He is the only batmsan in squad and deserves at least this series before axe.

Sure he deserves a shot after 3rd/4th test if Rahane keeps failing but if we change back to the combination of 7-4, we're not even giving ourselves a chance to win a test.

He wasn't pathetic in NZ, decent. Top scorer in 1st innings, undefeated in last. Average 40 from 4 innings. Decent. But deserves more than 4 tests overseas. Vijay, Rahane were written off too at 1 stage. And don't consider ODI's, in that case Vijay was terrible last time India toured SA in 2010.

Rahane was poor in previous A tours, had 1 solid innings this A tour though and was also struggling against Joginder Sharma in SRT's farewell (why he was written off, he is class though as we saw). But anyways India is too vulnerable with current batting. Imagine if score was 350 instead of 450... this match was most likely lost. Dhoni is not a No.6, Jaddu is not a No.7...weakest Indian batting lineup in decades. Not the way to go, luck won't save India everytime in 5 test series. Lack of depth will be exposed and may just cost the series. Binny is not a bowler btw, he is not batter either. Binny is a fielder. Rohit is same at bowling as Binny. He just gives others a rest.

whats the use of playing a 5th bowler if he is not good enough even to be a 10th bowler. If he was that good, he would have already been playing in top 4 bowlers.

The score was less because all 3 of Kohli,Pujara and Rahane failed.That too won't happen everytime. By 5 bowlers,I meant Ashwin for these kind of tracks.He can do well here and is a decent batsman too.I still think Binny can do a job of 5th bowler on seamer friendly tracks.Here even Shami is struggling.so can expect nothing from Binny. Simply put we need to try 5 bowler strategy for a while as 4 bowlers hasnt worked at all.This may be weak batting lineup but it'll remain weak with Rohit in.Its not like we are leaving out a great and have a lot to lose by omitting Rohit.We have to see how this tradeoff works for a while

6 + 5 for me for the next test. Should get in another pacer or spin bowler depending on the wicket. If it's as dead as this then better to get a spinner.

I would get Ashwin in for Binny. Thats the only change I'll make. We'll anyways need to bowl a lot of overs, and crap as Ashwin is overseas, he'll be more threatening than Binny. Plus a better batsman.
