Wish we get a seaming pitch to bowl on. That is where we should not fail. If we fail we are doomesd
Even on seaming pitch 2nd innings will be a problem. We are doomed.we need badly a spinner who can pick wickets.

because he has not done anything.
Common man don't pin this disaster on his head, yes he is useless but he is not the reason for this mess. It is about dhobi and other four bowlers. Dhobi having no clue on how to rotate bowlers and making them bowl too many overs in one spell making them so ineffective. It is on bowlers who talk as if they have done something great when they taken two or three wickets.

Yes, he is not the reason but if he is useless then why pick him for next test. We have 3 pacers who did well and made the match out of nowhere but expecting 3 average bowlers to do everything is insane. IN theory, we played 5 bowlers, but actually we only had 3.

Wanderers, Auckland, Wellington were all seaming tracks but seaming tracks too dont seam for all 5 days. Eve if we do well in Ist innings, we struggle big time in 2nd. The biggest reason is we are not using reverse swing it its best overseas. In India, we do not need to do much to get reverse with SG but overseas with Kookaburra and Duke, they need to do much more work on the ball. Even yesterday, we could not do that. English bowlers were already getting reverse yesterday. We did not see that for our bowlers. Most wickets we got were due conventional swing.

The same thing needs to be done by pacers when bowling in india they just cannot hide under pitches are flat excuse. These guys just make numbers in tests home on the same pitches fast bowlers from other teams are doing something we are seeing in ipl fast bowlers from other countries doing well where as our guys stink. For them i.e. spinners overseas and pacers @home they need to show more guts and skills along with taking more responsibility. How moronic is ishant sharma when he says he found his rhythm when he picks three wickets out with one was a gift from umpire and another was gift from batsman.

This is nothing but imagination thay Indian pacers do not do well at home. Indian pacers likes of Zak, Ishant, Umesh, Shami, Sreesanth, Munaf all have done well in India, won us matches. Umesh in his debut series picked 9 wiockets in 2 matches, Shami picked 11 in 2. Ishant was MOS in 2008, Zak was MOS in 2008, Ishant Played a huge role in winning us home the series against NZ in 2010 when first 2 matches drawn on flat tracks with his7 wickets, Ishant played a bit role in leveling the series 1-1 against SA at when we had lost at Ahmedaad and Chennai was draw and on Kanpur dustbowl he picked up important wickets for us. Sreesanth also won us a test picking 5-fer at the a crucial time against SL at Kanpur. Umesh helped us winning the only test against England in 2012 picking 4 wickets. He was the best pacer from both sides. England pacers on that same pitches concede 250 plus runs for 1 wicket. While he alone picked 4 conceding 80 odd runs. Munaf in his debut test at home had picked 7 against England. Sreesanth in that same series picked 4-in his first innings. Since 2006, there have been several test matches where out fast bowlers made crucial contributions at home. Before his loss of form in 2011 after a poor England tour, Ishant was averaging 27 in India picking up 50 plus wickets in 13 odd tests. Umesh still averages 27 in India, picking 18 wickets in 5 tests.

Yes I am shocked at fans who forget such things.Zak,ishant, sreesanth at the time won matches where spinners truggled at home. And swann was hammered at trentbridge and australia.Even bhajji was great in sa.

How many wickets and overs they bowled. In those tests. Since when taking odd wickets called performance the examples you gave in all those tests spinners bowled the maximum overs and took maximum wickets with pacers chipping in. They have ample time to take breaks there.where as here nope they have to bowl the third and fourth spells and come back again next day do the same for whole series they are simply not used to these loads and it is showing they have no clue on how conserve energies to be effective in third and fourth spells. Only for brief period when zak was the guy but he also did not carry the load . Until they have stamina to bowl they cannot be effective so question is how do they get fit to last whole day and whole test.until these are solved they are going no where. Captain moron cannot overbowl one guy in a spell just because he got some wickets he is done for the match when that happens.

You will bowl the bowlers who suite the conditions the most. You wont bowl spinners more in England. Same way, you wont bowl pacers more in India. Still pacers have contributed winning us matches whatever overs they bowled. There were times when our spinners were struggling even at home then it was pacers who helped us win matches. and it is not about stamina but effectiveness. 2008 test series against Aus was effectively won by pacers and not spinners. Ishant being the highest wicket taker and Zak supporting him. Same way later Engalnd series, Zak was the highest wicket taker. We have seen Indian pacers becoming the impacting the match at crucial stages and it is not about how many overs they bowled but how effective they were. If you bowl more whoever the fast bowler is will lose his effectiveness. Because we cannot pick wickets overseas depending on 3 bowlers, so they are forced to bowl more and that way they lose their effectiveness. This is why an effective 4th bowler is needed and not just one who is blocking runs but can take wickets whether a pacer or a spinner. e certainly have pacers who can take wickets in these conditions but there is no spinner who can do that or has done that in recent past. Play your best 4 bowlers rather than picking a spinner for the sake of variety. Part timers can bowl a few for variety sake. We paid for it in NZ too Jadeja was completely ineffective which burdened our pacers hugely and one extra effective seamer could have made a difference.

I am not saying pacers did not help win matches in india but it is load which takes away their effectiveness. Guy like siddle or even broad not this year they keep running in bowling hard in last spells our guys if they dont get wickets early you can forget it the batting pair will score 100s. They just dont have that extra gear which is needed when you are asked to bowl 25 overs in days and also asked to take wickets. Both captain and bowlers run out of ideas and look lost once partnership is building they are always at mercy of the batsmen to make mistakes to get out, it was shameful to see the stunt dhobi pulled today. He literally was going thru motions looking clueless.as captain you earn your stripes in those situations but we have see too often from dhobi even in india once partnership develop he looks clueless.

Siddle barely takes any wickets, so does not matter how much he is running in, always bowls around 80-82 mph. He has been so ineffective that was even dropped for Pattinson. Regarding Broad, they play 4 effective bowlers and one alrounder who all can take wickets and he rarely had to bowl long spells if you have a bowler like Swann as a spinner who can bowl from one end and rotate others form other end. He had to bowl lot of overs in first innings and see how he was trundling in 120s. you do not expect 5-6 test old bowlers to run in whole day. They do not have the experience or endurance to last that long. They can get better as they play more and bowl more. Ishant is one who can run in whole day but he cannot pick wickets.

To be honest, for the pitch they were bowling on they didn't do too badly. Agreed, we completely lost our grip after taking 7 wickets and couldn't kill off the innings, but in the end both bowling attacks got comparable results. Let's see this attack on better pitches before writing it off.

Forget 204/7 as they still had Broad and Plunkett left who are pretty decent bats, but 298/9 and then 496, what a shame. Even a lead of 100 could have been great then. Do you need a seaming pitch to get a #11 out?

Well siddle has no major skill other than running in hard and bowling fast that is why he was in the team, he was dropped when he could not do that during ashes. We never have experienced bowlers, when we have them either they useless like ishant or always unfit like zak. So how are we going to give them experience if they become fat slobs like rp singh or a moron like sreesanth. Well india is supposed to produce spinners if we cant do that we might just shut everything down, you need wickets to win matches. I am glad they are playing five tests it really will weed out weak players.

If it was one off occurance it would be easy to overlook. Dhoni giving last over before tea to ishant when he bowled a long spell yesterday picked up wickets brought india into match shows dhobi has no clue you just dont give your bowler that little gap between spells after he had completely physically and mentally checked out for tea. These are small things which add up in long run and ruin the effectiveness. In odi he gives his fastest bowler one over spells how the heck can anyone get loose so many times.

You should check what he has not done. Bowl to take wickets,Bat to score runs
because he has not done anything.
Guys, who asked him to bowl 10 overs? The captain did. Batting... it was his first ever test inng. How many players have scored well on debut? A handful. He needs time and patience. If we can be patient with that Suresh Raina from Chennai Super Queens, what crime has Binny done?

The way the top order in all 3 innings have collapsed, the pitch might not be as flat as people think. The bowlers of both sides may have run out of steam after a few overs, especially when any pair has fought back. This pop gun attack won't win us tests abroad. Maybe a rare one. Our bowlers lack pace, ability and consistency.
