namasteji1 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 He is the only pace bowling allrounder we have right now, better to try him atleast for three tests than drop him and get someone else.

Even Kohli can do better. Atleast will score more than that (ignore his last innings)

TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 What in the hell is his role supposed to be? They send him in to bat at No. 8 and then bowl very few overs from him. What's the point of even selecting him then? Might as well have picked another batsman, because his contribution in this game has been next to non-existent. 120k and 1 run. Even Kohli can do better. Atleast will score more than that (ignore his last innings) Kohli's bowling is god-awful. He should never bowl, at least not in the limited-overs formats. Even in Tests, they should only bowl him as a last resort and nothing more.
namasteji1 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Kohli needs to go to MRF pace foundation to increase his pace and get tips from GD mcgrath, then only we'll have our next allrounder after Kapil Dev
Cricket_Hacker Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 yeah i reckon with a longer run up and some coaching Kohli can bowl 125-130 kmph.He has a nice rhythmic action,a good seam position and can bowl off cutters if needed.Has got the basics right, just needs polishing.
BlueBee Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 So Binny is an All rounder?? Bowling 120k humble pies and scoring 1 runs don't make you an All rounder. Ok lets ignore his batting as it's his debut but what about his bowling?? In international cricket 120k is child's play if you don't have swing. Also these 10cm swing won't do the trick.

His batting is quite good and he is a good bowler in Indian conditions. He has to improve overseas but that comes with experience because you are bowling with a different ball, different conditions and so you need to learn a lot before you can do well there.

NareshK Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 We need a pace bowling all rounder. If he continues batting well, he can add the depth to our batting which will enable the team to add another proper seamer.
Maratha Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 What's irritating is that he couldn't maintain upright seam bowling @ 120k.
achilles Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 So it takes 10 overs and 1 batting inning to judge a Player? Wow. How friggin intelligent of us!
Sachin=GOD Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 So it takes 10 overs and 1 batting inning to judge a Player? Wow. How friggin intelligent of us! ICFers have already judged Rohit Sharma to be crap and not worthy of a place in the Test side even though he has played just 10 innings in Tests (where he has scored 2 hundreds and a fifty) so I would say the 1 inning and 10 overs is just about the right amount of time needed to judge Binny.

Exactly man. I mean, we have appreciation threads here for Suresh Chaatu Raina after his sadakchaap technique has been exposed again and again. And we're crucifying a debutant? Esp when his own captain didn't give him a proper spell to bowl? Why not blame the stupid captain who gave the ball to Yum Vijay ahead of Binny?

Hi achillies, good to see you back :icflove:. Agree with you. Binny is being portrayed as useless. He didn't give him the chance to bat in NZ, sent Ash and Jaddu ahead of him. Didn't give him to bowl more than one over.
