No fair enough and I agree with you,if you know I am one of the biggest proponents of dhoni quitting his captaincy for atleast the last 3 years now but here is the thing, Is kohli the option....the guy is an option in odi and t20 for sure ....but in tests he still is not eastablished.....not just going by this series but his overall test record which is not that great. Don't misinterpret that I am saying he is a failure in tests,we have high expectations from him as the next big batting god keeping with our tradition .you don't want to burden him when he is still getting his feet wet at the test level. He is already a atg at the odi level but we need him to take his game to the next level in tests as well. I

If we were to get rid of MSD, who would step in? Who would you replace MS with? Virat who can't buy a run right now, and hasnt exactly done great with RCB! And then the rest of the batsman who are inexperienced, maybe Che Pujara a possible candidate, is he really a leader tho? Maybe look to one of the bowlers... all inexperienced, all in out and out of the team... there is no replacement.

Still made 30+ twice in 3rd test, i believe he will bounce back very soon. Getting out to minor things, still a big match player. He has looked fine at the crease the more he has played. About his RCB stint, he still did well managing bowlers like aaron, starc, chahal. He attacked often and went for wickets. Main issue was dinda selection. There is ALWAYS an option. Kohli, Gambhir, Pujara. The team is young and most have gelled well with each other. Whats wrong with one of them taking charge? The captain can take inputs from the other players. Just get someone else who has led from the front, i.e. kohli with batting. Wouldnt mind gambhir either. I want someone who will fight and not just tap the opposition on the back after they toy with our bowlers.

I won't mind even a rubbish captain for the time being if it means we can send Dhoni out (or even make him fight for his WK spot in tests). We need someone who can ATLEAST pick the right playing XI, understand pacer workloads, etc even if he isn't the best when it comes to tactics. I would go with Kohli or Pujara. Ashwin could have been an option but he hasn't cemented his spot for overseas tests.

Ashwin is pretty intelligent, understands the game well and keeps his composure. He can bat and is a decent bowler on the subcontinent. Even if he doesn't deliver as a bowler overseas, it's worth having him in as a skipper.

He is a quick thinker, and likes to experiment. If anything, I would attribute part of his poor overseas performance to Dhoni's defensive tactics. If he gets a couple of good games, he is my first choice for captain replacing Dhoni
