India needs to find a genuine wicket taking spinner

Are you kidding me. Not only a spinner but also some pace bowlers who don't suck, some batsmen who can score runs overseas, some slip fielders who can take some catches, a captain who is positive, a wicket keeper who can take catches and a coach who atleast speaks

Karn looks more suited to LOIs to me.How has he done in longer format?

He is nowhere near test class. He is one of those bowlers who bowls flat, doesnt give the ball much air. He will stop runs but he is not a wicket taker. In T20, because batsmen go for slogs he picks wickets.

The problem is Indian selectors are genuinely retarded and don't have eye for talent. They have no idea which players to pick for which format. They pick ODI players for tests, T20 players for ODIs etc. and they even consider IPL performances for international cricket. They completely fail at their job. Even if there are some good spinners in FC, they won't fall in selectors' radar unless they play IPL and win the purple cap or something stupid like that.

Can throw him straight in. What's point of having him play mediocre Ranji level for another x amount of seasons before debut. Legspinners get turn on any pitch regardless how it is like which could be a bonus in Aus cause on some pitches someone like Ojha will get none at all.

Leg spinner even if he bowls flatter trajectory can be handy. Moin isnt bowling flighted deliveries but still taking wickets.
